AI Use Cases

I have recently been using Claude and Notion a lot in my day today. It feels like the potential is there and I’m on the 10 yard line it putting it all together in an ecosystem that can keep me really organized in detail oriented. For example, managing action items on closing calls, managing documentation, etc. would really like insight if anyone has a good system in place/use cases

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some insights and potential use cases for integrating AI tools like Claude and Notion into your workflow to stay organized and detail-oriented:

1. Managing Action Items on Closing Calls

  • Use Claude to transcribe and summarize closing calls in real-time. It can extract key action items, deadlines, and responsibilities.
  • Integrate Notion to create a centralized task board where these action items are automatically logged and assigned to team members. Use templates for recurring call structures to save time.

2. Documentation Management

  • Leverage Claude for document analysis, such as summarizing contracts or identifying discrepancies in legal documents.
  • Store and organize these documents in Notion, tagging them by deal, client, or project. Use linked databases to connect related documents, making retrieval seamless.

3. Task Prioritization and Tracking

  • Use Claude to analyze your task list and suggest prioritization based on deadlines or importance.
  • In Notion, create a Kanban board or timeline view to visualize your tasks. Automate reminders and progress tracking to ensure nothing slips through the cracks.

4. Workflow Automation

  • Combine Claude's natural language processing with Notion's API to automate repetitive tasks. For example, you can set up workflows where Claude identifies key updates from emails or meetings and logs them directly into Notion.

5. Knowledge Management

  • Use Claude to summarize articles, reports, or meeting notes and store these summaries in Notion for easy reference.
  • Build a personal knowledge base in Notion, linking related topics and creating a searchable repository of insights.

6. Team Collaboration

  • Share your Notion workspace with your team to ensure everyone is aligned. Use Claude to facilitate brainstorming sessions or generate ideas for complex problems.

By combining the strengths of Claude's AI capabilities with Notion's organizational tools, you can create a robust ecosystem that enhances productivity and keeps you on top of your tasks.

The potential is there for... what?  What potential?

It sounds like your use case for AI is basically no different than a file cabinet and a small amount of self-discipline.  As someone who also struggles a bit with organization, I think that's great.  But "hey, we're a modern filing cabinet that self-sorts!" is not the kind of ROI that the many trillions of dollars being poured into "AI" has promised us.

We could have solved the housing crisis AND made money for what's been spent on LLMs.  As a liberal who believes in a more progressive but not confiscatory tax regime, the AI bubble is basically a billboard for every "tax the rich!" asshole to point and talk to.

Super bullish on AI (whole company is). Seeing material gains in efficiency from analyzing/digesting multiple docs/files. I believe this really becomes revolutionary if you can layer in a more 'agentic flow' where you're using Claude Code/Cowork to manage your files and pair that with 'agents' that can automatically complete tasks. My company is not there yet b/c of security concerns (not sure when we will get there).

HOWEVER, there's still a lot you can do. As an example, we are creating data rooms/repositories (in silo'd folder systems that have no connection to our primary file share system) and using Claude Code to sort/organize all the files as it recommends (or based on an existing framework we give it) and then then produce materials (memos/decks/analyses) from there. If you layer in Claude Design, you can basically go from a ton of raw materials to a full fledged, external facing deck, in a matter of hours (vs. days). Obviously super important to check for any AI hallucinations, and the output will only be as good as the quality of input, but feels quite valuable.

Back to the systems, I think it really will really come down to what you/your company want to do/feel comfortable with. Don't think you're going to get the massive productivity/management gains you're referencing unless you allow an AI tool to be more of a wraparound solution (e.g., letting CoWork loose on your files). But there are security concerns with that, and I don't know enough to give good advice there.

Side note: check out Perplexity (base and Computer) if you haven't already. Great at creating live dashboards, doing research, and managing 'stuff' for you. You could probably create a Space for a deal, drop in an action items list, link it to your inbox teams, have it update the action items list every time stuff gets updated, and send out a daily summary to you (or others on your team).
