Are Bankers in SF Conservative or Liberal??

I've interned at a few shops in sf, and most of my colleagues around here have been (somewhat surprisingly) conservative. Just wondering if this tends to be true in Sf or if it's just the people I've worked with so far.

A lot of Wall St on the IB side has tended to lean left (think Blair Effron for example), contrary to what one may think, but you also have your right leaning guys rampant due to perceived economic and financial benefits. SF, at least in my friend group, isn't necessarily the catalyst for political view shifts. Most people who move to SF for IB or are from the area, from my exp so YMMV, don't really gel with the super polarizing and lib crowd or don't identify as such at the least. Hang out at different bars and areas too. Moving to SF for a job, and hopefully you don't have weak and malleable friends in terms of herd mentality for where they live, will usually not sway political opinions unless you innately believe in the cause(s). And honestly, you likely will get pretty turned off from how in your face people in SF are with their political garbo if you lean any direction which is rightwards lol

EDIT: My friends in SF say the Marina, both living and going out there, is a safe haven from a lot of the freaks you may run into elsewhere so I guess pick your neighborhood wisely

The main reason IB on Wall Street "might" lean liberal is the location. Every financial company in the northeast I have worked for has leaned conservative.

in my experience, SF bankers can be considered more conservative than your typical SF person. However, they are slightly more liberal than LA or East Coast bankers. I’d say in general, they are relatively moderate.
