I'll just speak to some restaurants.
I'd definitely try to go to Gibson's (a steakhouse) and Gibson's Italia. Gibson's Italia is in one of the best locations in the city if you care about views as it is right on the corner of the river. It is also a really good place to go if you are in a group of 3 and you like to share because you can get one fish, one pasta, and one steak which is a really good way to get a little bit of everything and not spending an arm and a leg.
Lou Melnati's is one of the classic Chicago pizza places.
Oriole is quite literally the best restaurant in Chicago. It is a tasting menu restaurant so if you are a picky eater that's not a place for you. As you can imagine, it is also an incredibly expensive dinner.
If you are into ramen, Akahoshi Ramen is great.
Malnati’s hits, however I do prefer Pizzeria Uno.
Don’t go to Gibson’s. It caters to regulars and if you’re not one, you’ll get third-rate service. It’s a steakhouse. Chicago has a dozen steakhouses as good if not better than Gibson’s. Go to one of them.
My favorite restaurant in Chicago is Bavettes. It was my go to spot for special celebrations when I lived in Chicago. It's across the street from the Merch Mart.
John Hancock 360 has better views than the Sears (Willis) Tower SkyDeck
Cindy’s Rooftop has a nice view of Millennium Park and The Robey has a nice view of the skyline from a distance
I recommend the Architecture River Tour
+1 to the architecture boat cruise. Also the architect-led walking tours, if they’re still doing them. You’ll get schooled on how architecture works.
The best restaurant in Chicago is Alinea
Next is also quite good. One of my great regrets is missing the elbulli season at next
I can't find a comment I made in the past for this, but would echo the architecture boat tour, as well as just exploring the city in general and going on urban planning/architecture tours more broadly since Chicago is a more classically uniquely American city than some other historic ones on the East Coast that were more influenced by European design.
Off the beaten path things to check out:

Also paging @Deal Team Six for recommendations.
@Pierogi Equities Thanks for the tag, I think you listed a lot of really good options. I would definitely echo your comments on the Boulevard Park System as it is really cool and is a good way to spend a summy summer day with a group of friends. Also never seen anyone mention that before, that's a true local's kind of comment.
Im a bit older now, so I am trying to think back to what was really fun during my intern / analyst years. Half the comments on here are 30-40 year olds recommending $$$ - $$$$ experiences (e.g., Alinea, ugh why recommend an intern drop $1500 on a tasting menu and wine pairing.....). @Pierogi Equities did a really nice job of recommending things that are fun and wont break the bank. Let me try and contribute.
I think spending a day along the water in Lakeview is absolutely a good time. People will grab a cooler, spikeball, a good group of friends and just kind of camp out along the lakefront. In my opinion, its much better than the overcrowded beaches and is a great way to have a lot of fun on a budget.
Really fun bars:
Non-Bar Related Activities:
One of my favorite days in Chicago was spent in the Northern Suburbs, so if youre looking for something less focused on drinking and meeting girls, here is what I would recommend. Get a group of 3 friends, go up early and play 9-18 holes (or play tennis on the nice PUBLIC Glencoe grass courts) and then follow it up with kyacking in Lake Michigan, then go to a show at Ravinia.
Honorable Mentions:
I'm a huge urban planning nerd so I love that kind of stuff. One thing I came across that I found super interesting was an urban planning professor's planning studio project about a modern version of the 1909 Burnham Plan which was designed by the same architect that oversaw the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago.
If you drink, there’s a great speakeasy called The Office in Fulton Market. It’s part of the Alinea Group, one of my favorite bars I’ve ever been to
For the best customer service in the city go to Weiner's Circle
Stephanie Izard’s restaurants in the west loop are amazing. Girl in the Goat, Duck Duck Goat, Cabra. Also, in a great area to bar hop/club after
