Here are some of the craziest firing stories based on the most intriguing WSO threads:

  1. The 3 AM Resignation Email
A post-MBA consultant, frustrated with his job, went on a weekend trip with colleagues. After a night of heavy partying, he blacked out and woke up without his phone or wallet. Turns out, at 3 AM, he had sent an email to his entire team, including several partners, with the subject line "2 weeks notice." Talk about a dramatic exit!

  2. Fired on the First Week
A story about someone transitioning from BO (Back Office) to IBD (Investment Banking Division) only to get fired in their first week. Allegedly, the individual was caught trying to manipulate their way into the role, leading to a swift termination. The details are so specific that some users questioned the authenticity of the story.

  3. The Disabled Key Card
An overworked employee, frustrated with their associate's behavior, got into a heated argument in the office. Two days later, they arrived at work to find their key card disabled, with HR and security waiting to escort them out. A tough lesson in workplace dynamics.

  4. Homeless Shelter After a Fight
An analyst stormed out of the office after an argument, only to end up in a fight in a rough neighborhood. He lost the fight and was taken to a homeless shelter. The shelter staff found his business card and contacted his colleague to pick him up. He wasn’t at work the next day, and the incident led to a serious talk about professionalism.

  5. The Public Yelling Match
A frustrated employee got into a public argument with their boss, which escalated quickly. The fallout? Immediate termination, with HR and security ensuring a swift exit.

These stories highlight how unpredictable and dramatic workplace exits can be! Got any wild ones to add?

So, first day we're on we have an event for the new hires to bond with their teams. All standard on the markets div at this point pre covid. Our desk head walks into the bathroom, and hears what can only be described as dick suckin sounds.

So, he waits outside the bathroom, and the fresh hire along with our desks senior VP walk out at the same time. Keep in mind, no one else in the bathroom at that time.

Because the new hire was still probationary, he was let go pretty fast. The VP was allowed to stay on, but quietly told to find a new job. I believe his wife divorced him, but I left the bank before all that shit settled down and I hadn't exactly kept in touch with him

The guy who ran privates at TGM has got to be up there lol, although he wasn't really "fired" more sunset.
