Cut sugar and energy level

Hi guys:

I’m thinking to cut out sugar from my diet so I have more energy at work - often I feel tapped out if it’s a long day.

Has anyone in banking tried this? Did it work for you?

I think in general if you eat carbs that "burn" more slowly, your will feel more energized for longer. This isn't just "added sugar" (although it is a start). And I don't think you need to cut it entirely out, because that will drive you mad and you will most likely become obsessive over it (don't fuck up your relationship with food, trust me). I also find that if I limit the super processed carbs (junk foods, even salty ones, made with flour), my energy is alot better. I definitely recommend against morning pastries of anything of that sort (those knock me out for sure). But eat the dessert if you are at a nice dinner. Live your best life.

Were you able to be productive for the two days? I've been thinking about caffeine detoxing, but wasn't sure if I'd be able to stay functioning for those initial caffeine free days.

You can detox on green tea. It has a small amount of caffeine

Just intermittent fast when you’re at work. You won’t have that tired post lunch 2pm drag.
