Day of Rage Against Wall Street

Get your slug proof three piece suits ready, gentlemen. The Day of Rage is coming to a Wall Street sidewalk near you. In the umpteenth useful idiot initiative to fuse civil disobedience and change a bunch of wannabe radicals will be impeding your Starbucks runs on September 17th.

Be prepared for community college debate team captains and local ACORN activists (who will later use this excuse to hang out as "organizational experience" on their MBA applications) to pelter you with cheers, jeers and sneers. Who knows, if you work for JP Morgan you might just get lucky and be voted Mr. The End of Capitalism, himself. Oh what a wonderful life. I am sure this is what most of you spent countless hours studying, slaving over and competing for. Who knew exit ops would dwindle to the point of just want to get to subway without welfare posse assaulting me?

I don't need to name names or point fingers, because this is plenty self explanatory. Naturally, it is non news but something worthy of a smirk and a laugh. At the same time reading about Tahrir moments, and the occupation of Wall Street really makes me think our society is slowly proving that Free Speech is certainly not for everyone. Read it and weep, boys and girls. It may not transpire or even need to be taken seriously...but when you have maniacs like this getting any attention it is pretty indicative of there being more inmates than the asylum can hold...

On September 17, we want to see 20,000 people flood into lower Manhattan, set up tents, kitchens, peaceful barricades and occupy Wall Street for a few months. Once there, we shall incessantly repeat our one simple demand until Barack Obama capitulates.

…there is a very real danger that if we naively put our cards on the table and rally around the “overthrow of capitalism” or some equally outworn utopian slogan, then our Tahrir moment will quickly fizzle into another inconsequential ultra-lefty spectacle soon forgotten. But if we have the cunning to come up with a deceptively simple Trojan Horse demand...

Might not like it, but I for one am glad I live somewhere where people can express differing opinions safely. And that even extends to the dumbasses in the Tea Party.

my exact sentiments

I'd like to see how this plays out, could get ugly

brooksbrothaEd, you guys get many hate protests at banks in France?

Nah. French bankers aren't anything like American, Irish, or English bankers. The people here don't have the feeling that the French banks drove the global economy into the ditch. The one kid who colored outside the lines (Jerome Kerviel of SocGen) got thrown under the bus so hard that most French people feel bad for him.

Why do I get the feeling that nobody taking part in this thing is going to have to take off work? Oh, wait...

Why don't these f*ckers get a job.

Under my tutelage, you will grow from boys to men. From men into gladiators. And from gladiators into SWANSONS.

FlakeWhy don't these f*ckers get a job.

Because living on your paid tax money is much easier. Now they want more.

I had the honor of hearing Kelly King (BB&T CEO) speak at my alma mater Wednesday night and he said something that I'll never forget: "Too many people are jumping into this socialist system of the wealthy providing for the people that don't want to work. In my opinion, if you're capable of working and choose not to, you should starve."

It was met with applause.

My mom has been unemployed for almost two years, and is still on unemployment. There were numerous times when she shot down jobs because they didn't pay as much as the last one she had...To the point where a 10k difference made her turn her nose. I have no sympathy for her or people like her, despite everything my parents have done for me in the past financially (raising me, school, etc). How are you going to sit there for two years and keep turning down work, just because those jobs only "pay as much as unemployment"? Get your ass out there and work.

These guys are idiots. What made them do this on a Saturday? One, only a modicum of the work force that makes up Wall Street will be there. Two, its football season. I would imagine most media will be focused on college football.

Except that there is no college football north of the Mason-Dixon line.

We should applaud these guys. Are you so bought in to the Wall Street mantra that you can't even support free speech when it comes remotely close to challenging your ideals? Free speech is what this country was built on. Let me guess, you're going to be elite too some day? Keep dreaming. You're not special. I'm not special either. Midas, even as a conservative I feel that this is just the type of post that insights unnecessary disdain between people. Let’s keep it positive. We’re all so fortunate.

Minor nit... I believe that you meant this is the type of post that "incites" unnecessary disdain... the rest of of the paragraph is stet.

I certainly have no issue with peaceful assembly. My beef is that the main groups involved are decidedly anti-capitalist.

I find your username to be quite fitting.

I think their continued drain on society to enable a public 'day of rage' was the first volley of unnecessary disdain, anyway. Those pieces of shit can go fuck themselves.
