Difficulty choosing between 2 offers
I'm a Junior at a respectable non-target state school. I have a 4.0 with only 1 year til I graduate but little to no experience. I came into college not knowing what I wanted to do, and was well aware that I had 0 chance of getting an IB internship this summer when I declared a Finance major. With that said, I have 2 offers right now one both of which I have 5 days from now to respond. One is an Operations Summer Analyst role at a Bulge Bracket (30 mins outside of NYC which is mostly back/middle office roles), the other is a finance internship at an F500 in the consumer goods (think hygiene/health) industry. I've done research and nearly all the interns land a position within their FLDP, which I heard isn't bad for MBA admissions. My goal down the road is to get an MBA from a T8 and to get into IB. I know everything is what you make of it, but I'm here looking for advice. I know Ops is like the definition of back office, but I've heard an Ops summer analyst role isn't as bad as Ops full time and that the experience is more comparable to what some front office interns do. Ops intern is offering $38 an hour, the F500 is offering $25. I'm looking for advice, if my goal down the road is to get an MBA and break into IB. The comp difference doesn't mean much to me, I want what's best for the future
