Diversity

I've seen a lot of threads of people here talking about diversity students getting it easier in the recruitment process — curious to know how they know you're diversity in the regular application — is there a separate application or can they see (and filter) through the diversity questionnaire at the end of the application? since it usually says it's only used for stats purposes

you literally mentioned it yourself. they only ask for stats purposes the same way Iran is only using the $10 billion for humanitarian purposes

Iran is not using or receiving $10B of US taxpayer money. A simple google search can demonstrate that.

Learn basic finance mechanics. Those are merely frozen Iranian assets that were simply unfrozen. There is 0 US taxpayer money involved in the transaction.

Iran and Russia are the 2 major geopolitical adversaries to the US, after China of course. You think the US gives these countries taxpayer-sourced aid? Are you that obtuse?

How are you in finance? Seriously.

Ah, a question that pops up quite often! Based on the most helpful WSO content, diversity recruiting is a process that can give certain candidates a bit of an edge. If you're anything but a straight white male, you might be considered for diversity. This could be due to your gender, skin color, or sexual orientation.

Now, how do they know you're a diversity candidate? Well, there are specific diversity programs and events that you can apply to. For example, JP Morgan has a program called Launching Leaders. Goldman Sachs has an Insights Day. These are separate from the general application process and are specifically designed for diversity candidates.

In addition to these programs, some firms offer scholarships as part of their diversity recruiting efforts. For example, Morgan Stanley has the Richard B. Fisher scholarship, and Goldman Sachs has the Scholarship for Excellence.

However, it's important to note that you can also submit a general summer application in addition to your diversity program application. This is highly encouraged as it allows you to cover all your bases.

And remember, while these programs might give you a bit of a leg up, they don't guarantee an easy pass. The interview process is still rigorous, and you'll need to prove your worth just like any other candidate. So, keep that chin up, put your best foot forward, and show them what you've got!
