Career Resources
Not sure if the question is serious... but I have stopped discussing school or career stuff when I turned 16.
Prom night was the last time my parents saw me in a formal setting.
I don't think there is a problem when you want someone with you, but I am in my best mental shape when I am alone.
.
Look, if you have a good enough relationship with your parents / your dad that they would even care about this.. then go for it!
My parents trust that everything is OK and don't care about the details. When there is a grandchild in the future, they would expect a phone call and would visit. That's it.
If your parents are really into being there for you.. then I don't see why this would be a problem.
In fact, I follow quite a few youtube channels where people travel with their parents. I find that amazing because I haven't traveled with my parents after I was a child.
You are not a serious person
Are most SD’s in person now? Recruited through COVID and all of mine were virtual.
We thought Gen Z analysts were bad...I don't think we're ready for Gen Alpha
My parents take me to job interviews. They discuss with the MD about my performance in the interview and tell him that I'm a good child so I would be a good fit.
They take me to work and fend off mean bosses and coworkers.
They reply to recruiters and wipe my ass
My mom used to like to watch my tennis tournaments in HS, but she always criticized me for various things I did during the match. So I was tired of the criticism and just wanted to have fun and so I forbade her to watch my tennis matches, but she was still there on site when I finished and usually won.
Now she can barely talk and has dementia and I feel bad because back then I didn't know how proud she was and how happy she was to see me play tennis. And I took that away from her. FML
unbeknownst to you at the time, she was always doing that out of love for you. My mom used to do a similar thing, and then after the fact she'd say "who else is supposed to tell you this, I'm your mother." No one other than other mothers will understand the love a mother has for her child.
Yea ... my dad used to do that for all my sports matches, although he has never done anything physical in his life and has no clue. I think it's their way of staying relevant
She saw you playing, watched you learn how to play from scratch. Watched you learn how to walk, how to talk, your first smile, your first run, your first jump. She may still be up there watching you run, bike, and swim. She's proud of you and those moments will always be a part of history. Love never truly dies. Let go of the guilt and embrace the love.
Signed, an imperfect parent.
Thanks for your kind words. Yes she taught me to play tennis from the age of 3.
