Most Houston banks recruit from Texas schools, ie UT SMU Rice. Just generally a lot more chill/ fratty ppl attend those schools  than HYPSM. The schools themselves also have a much frattier culture, Harvard only gets excited about game days vs Yale, while Texas schools are excited about basically every game day

 

Has everything to do with the clients. Miners drink like fish, and party outside of the watchful eyes on site tours in places like Mexico, Africa and S.America. That bleeds over into the bankers who service them. 

Bank CEOs are always in the spotlight and aren't going to cut loose in the same way. Their bankers take them to Per Se.
