Free From Prestige Chasing?

Just a random thought I have right now. As most WSO users, I'm sure most of you had a phase during your early career where you really care about prestige even if you want to admit it or not.

To more senior people on this site, at what point of your life and what made you realize that prestige just doesn't matter anymore? (or please elaborate if you still think it is)
