That's the move. When we take trips to the Caribbean I always go and buy like 20 of the name brand knock offs. I can beat them up, throw them, get them wet, lose them, without ever worrying about what they cost me.
I have a few Ray Bans and a few Tom Fords. Don't overthink it.

I've had Maui Jim's (generally my favorite) and some Oakleys, but this year when looking at another pair of Maui Jims I decided to go the cheaper route. A buddy of mine had bought some of the cheaper, polarized sunglasses off of a facebook add. I bought a few pairs and am actually glad I did.
Now, they're not as good as my previous Maui Jims, but they're much better than the crap you get at Walgreens. Considering I plan on doing a significant amount of time at the pool (with kids), outdoor activities and boating this summer I'm pretty happy with this approach.
I had never lost or broken a pair of sunglasses before, but left a pair at the pool this year already. Thankfully it was a $20 pair and not $300 pair.
Get yourself a pair of Oakleys to ensure you're always traveling faster than everyone else. GFG's never let anyone down.
Do those also serve as VR goggles?

Tortoise Shell Persol Steve McQueen's that fold at like every non-jointed segment. Love handing them to people and watching them panic when they awkwardly fold in their hands.
I have that same style pair but not the folding ones. Love them. Probably will wear Persols until I die

I like to go to cheapo stores and find the most ridiculous ones in the store. They are often heart print or heart shaped. I also rocked some State Farm's for like 6 years. I'm legit sad I misplaced them.
The free shit you get from geico. No question. It's all about clout these days, and if geico swag is not clout I don't know what is.

Ray-Bans Wayfarer Old Style, they are more slanted though so if that is not your preference, I would I check out the new style. I have a reading/sight glasses from Dolce and Gabbana that double as sunglasses that provide UV protection. I would explore your choices and see what fits well and looks good on you. If you are going to make an investment in sunglasses, might as well get a quality pair that will last you a while and you really like.
