Golf Club and Tennis Racquet Recommendation

Now that I'm joining a hedge fund and a broker dealer for the summer, I figured I gotta update my hobbies to fit w my new personality.

I've been playing tennis for a few years, so I just upgraded to a babolat, but I'm wonderoing about the clubs. Is Callaway still in? My dad has an old musty set, but whaas wondring what the new "it" brand is

Figured this would be the best place to drop this one

I have a set of Mizuno JPX 923 Hot Metal clubs that i've had for two years and they've served me well. They're one of the most forgiving types of clubs you can get. However, if you're new to golf prioritize getting better at the sport vs the clubs because the learning curve is quite steep. Also Callaways are still good clubs. Best of luck!

Yea, I've played a few times and I have good hand-eye so I've been improving rapidly

I can write a 10 page essay on this. If you want fancy ass clubs to impress people (mostly works in Asia) go with Honma. As for the rest, go get fitted with a PGA. Try different brands, it all comes down to feel and sound of impact. They all work the same these days and no brand is really that much better than the rest.

Know your swing speed- this goes for both tennis and golf recommendations. I'm a decently high-level tennis player, and the setups that work for me probably won't work for you. For tennis, a Babolat Pure Drive or Pure Aero 100 with syn gut will be just fine for you. If your arm hurts, check out the Ezone 100 or Wilson Clash. For golf, the average adult man should use regular flex shafts- if your club head speed is over a certain threshold, it's worth checking out the stiff shafts, but if you don't play often or competitively, it's not worth it. My dad and I were just hitting on a sim to check out our club head speeds, and although we are on both ends of the spectrum (I can hardly break 100, he won a semi-pro event just 3 years ago), we both need the regular flex shafts. Get fitted for irons somewhere, and make sure that you like the driver face angle. My best suggestion is to get what's relatively popular- it doesn't require much thought and they're pretty much guaranteed to work decently well for a large group of people.

I think that the Pro Staff is pretty much obsolete in the modern game, although I do enjoy dusting off a PS85 from time to time for a bit of serve and volley action

If you're already gonna drop the dough on new clubs just get a fitting from a pro done. They'll put you on a tracker and take appropriate metrics to pick you a set that's most suited to your swing.

I play both sports and who cares what the current "it" brand is - you'll look like a clown if you have the nicest shit and suck. For golf you've only "played a few times" so I'd suggest just getting some decent used clubs off Callaway Preowned and use the diff in $ for lessons. IMO there's no point in wasting $ getting fitted if your swing is going to change a lot as you get better.
