Has any one witnessed the effects of Adderall?
Preface: I know this is no place to get proper medical advice but I'm curious what other people know or believe.
I'm in 2nd year uni and was diagnosed ADHD pretty late into my life (just under 1 year ago). I am prescribed 15mg of adderall as a base dose and never asked my doctor to up the dose. I've started using it for about 8 months but will go on dry periods for months at a time if I have no deadlines or need to be especially high performing.
My doctor is very not concerned regarding most stuff, including one time I vouched for other testing to get done, resulting in me finding out I need to go to the hospital and have my appendix removed. He tells me, don't worry about crossing meds with caffeine, don't worry about working out while on it, and just keep an eye on my blood pressure. I try not to work out too much on it and will often cross the meds with caffeine (I sometimes go rlly hard on the coffee/energy drinks) on interview days and exams studying. I check my blood pressure periodically and it will be fine or on the slight higher end of the "fine" scale. I will also sometimes take multiple per day (no more than 3 but will more likely just go with 2).
Does anyone have experience first-hand or seeing someone around them regret using adderall too much or it cause issues over the years? I know I may sound a bit paranoid but it stems from one of my parents sides of the family has a history of heart issues and the other a minor history of strokes. Every now and then, I have seen articles of people dying on wall st. but as someone who isn't an insider, can't tell if its from snow, lack of sleep, poor health, stress, adderall, or a mix of all of them.
For those saying to ask somewhere else, I addressed where my slightly absent doctor stands and the web will give varying opinions from "nah ur chill" all the way to "DO NOT TAKE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE" summarized lingo from different studies. I'm split between seeing one side as the big pharma stance and the other as anti-medicine over-cautious.
P.S. funny enough, I saw that character die on that show "Industry" and felt it was a sign to maybe ask around about my existing concerns.
If you’re concerned I think some psychs ask for an EKG if they’re worried about your heart on stimulants. Have you thought about non stimulants? Could ease your worries. Also taking more than your recommended dose is exactly what not to do here lol don’t do that
Not medical advice but don’t work out on it bro. Don’t use caffeine on it. Also consider non stimulant options specifically DSRI’s I believe. Consult your doc or get a a new one
I meant dark
DNRI’s

Lmao
Stupid drug used by stupid people.
bro is mad
Not mad, just dying of laughter at the sheer levels of cope from degenerates on here over a job that’s literally just PowerPoint and Excel.

Imagine popping meds meant for serious cognitive disorders just to handle sitting at a desk. The fragility is almost impressive.
Unrelated, but that character died after abusing modafinil (narcolepsy medication) to stay up far longer than he could handle, and his heart gave out.
Guy at my friends work (non finance) used it daily for 15 years, got a heart attack on late 30s. Survived and obviously other factors could be involved, but these ADD medications are serious drugs.
Terrible for your heart. This varies but for me it was terrible for my mood.
