Have any of you ever fallen for a coworker? How did it play out?

I’ve fallen for a girl that I’ve been working with for about a year. We’re both in long term relationships, so it’s a tough situation. The feelings are mutual on her end. We’ve talked about it and we’re stuck on how to handle it.

Curious if any of you guys have ever been in a similar predicament.

Sounds like a nuclear bomb, dude. I don't think the grass is greener, bro ... maybe avoid this coworker (in the relationship sense).

Exception: You think she is marriage material and would do anything for her. Then possibly you break up with the other chick and then give it a shot, but you're risking a lot here including your career stability.

You'd have to agree to break up at the same time with the other person though. It would have to be coordinated. Tricky tricky.

In college I once dated a girl a who cheated on her boyfriend with me. Fast forward a year later, she cheats on me with another guy...

If she's cheating on her boyfriend with you, what makes you think that your situation is different from the one she's already in?

In summary, walk away from it. You might have a lot to lose including your job if things go south and there's a high chance that they will. Especially considering these #MeToo days we're living in, everything is as risky as ever.

If she'll cheat with you, she'll cheat on you.

Pretty tried and true outcome of these types of situations. Steer clear from girls like that.

It just takes one Chad at her next job to have the exact same thing happen to you.

Don't beat yourself up on this, Eric. Some people like taking the long way home. Who the fuck knows?

Even if the feelings are mutual, you are talking about not only going from being co-workers to being in a relationship… very different scenarios... but also managing both scenarios simultaneously.

Are your LT relationships each solid or on the outs? Do you each bitch and moan to the other about your SO’s? Are you looking for options or are you looking for distractions?

Whatever the case may be, remember that you are very likely only seeing certain facets of the other person and that you’re both likely putting your best face and best foot forward around the other person. You’re not arguing about bills or who forgot to pick up the dry cleaning or "why do we have to hang out with your friends again for the 3rd time in a row" or "what do you mean that you can’t take vacation the last week in March anymore" type of routine.

I fell hard and hooked up with someone at work. It was fun, sexy and many other things. I eventually left the firm. We continued being together for many years but eventually things soured, when I discovered that I was not the exception to the rule… as in they wound up hooking up with others whilst we were together and the way I found out left little room for forgiveness or closure.

My advice, be careful about sticking your dick into crazy or hot or "something other than what I already/currently have." Tread carefully, please.

Honestly, every coworker fling I’ve ever been involved with which seems promising didn’t work out. If you’re not happy with your current S/O then break it off and go explore. But it’s a bad idea to break it off for that coworker specifically (bar she’s wife material like somebody else posted, which I doubt you’d even have spent enough time together to figure this out). Best of luck man, don’t let your dick cloud your logic

I’m gonna go against the grain here. My mother slept with her boss, and 9 months later there I am.

The office place is one of the most common places people meet their spouse. But you shouldn’t cheat. Break up with your girlfriend, but don’t cheat, if you’re going to move forward.
