Hockey Players in High Finance

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone on here played hockey in college (club or varsity), and was curious to see your paths into high finance (IB, PE, HF, etc.). I have been playing at my school while also pursuing a career in IB. Curious to see how your paths looked like, especially if any of you played junior hockey before college. Cheers.

Hey there! It's great to see another hockey enthusiast interested in high finance. Based on the threads on Wall Street Oasis, it seems there are indeed individuals who have transitioned from junior hockey into investment banking. One user mentioned that they started college at 21 after playing junior hockey and then moved into IB at 24.

However, it's important to note that the path to IB is usually quite defined and it's beneficial to know from an early age if you want to pursue it. That being said, it's not impossible to transition later, especially if you're dedicated and willing to put in the work.

There's also a discussion about finance careers in sports leagues like the NFL, NHL, and NBA. Some of these organizations hire former bankers or PE associates for investment management or corporate development roles. So, if you're passionate about sports and finance, this could be an interesting path to explore.

Remember, everyone's journey is unique and there's no one-size-fits-all approach. Keep hustling on and off the ice!
