How many of you read after work?
I used to read a decent amount of books in high school and college, but now after working all day my mind is pretty fried and all I want to do is watch TV. Anyone else have this issue?

I was a voracious reader since childhood but tapered off in the last few years as work became rather hectic.
To get around this, I have started reading first thing in the morning now as I am completely drained at the end of the day and dont have the mental fortitude to pick up a book at that time.
I do similar things. I'm a morning person (yes it's a thing even in banking) and rn when I wake up I read a little or take some self-study courses such as VBA. My MD is not a maniac, reason why I have that precious free time.
I do, but I have 3-4 books going at a time depending on mood. After a long day it's hard to get into something deep, but if you have a lighter read available it's easier to stick with the habot
About a year ago I realized I had a long list of books I wanted to read but hadn't because my mindset was that I just didn't have time. My solution was to get on a schedule where I try to read at least 1 chapter a day because slow progress is still progress. This has been an incredibly fruitful endeavor as I am able to knock out a book every couple weeks or so on this schedule.
I do, I'm not getting through a book a week anymore but I still try to read as much as I can.
I really try to make sure I get at least 15 mins in a day. It's not much, but it helps settle my mind before I go to sleep.
It's probably the only time I get to relax after a long days work. Sometimes it can be short (15 mins) to my usual time (1 hour), I enjoy every moment of it.
Little trick, I rarely read right after work. Watch TV / cook / play video games / etc for a few hours and then in switch to reading books after you've pleasantly let your mind marinate over mindless stuff
I read every day. I cannot go to bed unless I devour some scifi/fantasy book or series. I probably use reading as an escape.
Same, I recently got back into reading fantasy, have you ever read The First Law?
I buy the book and put it on my bookshelf so I feel better about myself even though I never get around to reading it
I did that, but then felt like it was a waste of money and space and I never ended up reading a lot of the books, so now I just get them from the library instead and end up buying the ones I really like.
What is this “after work” you speak of?
need to learn how to read first
If you could read, you'd be very upset.
