How much do you actually save? (NYC)

More interested in numbers from analysts but any info is appreciated.  Given how ridiculous rents and prices are these days, genuinely curious how much analysts are saving in NYC assuming a not too frugal lifestyle.

This topic is without a doubt going to have a lot of survivorship bias, obviously the people with rich parents who pay their rent or the degenerates who are broke a few days after their paycheck won't respond.

I'm trying to save around 15% of my base salary.  Currently put 13% in 401ks and 4% in HSAs, with some portion of the HSA being used for short-term needs.

I'm a bit older (~5 yoe) and am able to save much more these days, but my first two years out of school I saved about 40-60k/year, including retirement. These days I make much more - my base is about 20% of my all in pay so during most of the year I'll just contribute to my 401k up to the match and actually spend a bit more than I take home from my base most months (pulling from savings throughout the year), and try and put away 150-200k+ during bonus time. 20k or so of that goes towards my monthly expenses the next year because my base won't go up much, and the rest goes into investments.
