How to make PowerPoint faster?
pulling an all nighter on a 50 slides deck. it is extremely slowly. please help. i dont paste pics as bitmap and still.

Sorry buddy wish I could help you but ACCOUNTING CHUMPS like myself are not capable in PowerPoint - we are only CAPABLE to get POUNDED in the ASS by IFRS 16
I could also use some advice with Powerpoint. I wish I knew how to make the file open to the last slide that was viewed. When I save a file in excel, it automatically opens to the last place you edited the document.
Align objects is the best tool in ppt
it's a lifesaver but a massive pain in the ass. "align middle, align center, group, ctrl c, ctrl v, format picture --> change icon, align text, align middle, align center, group". FML
Keyboard shortcuts / macros are your friend here. No real fast way around this process.
As for OP, if the file itself takes forever to save, or make changes, you should split it up into parts, such as halves or sections, and combine at the end.
I make the align left/right/center/etc hot keys in the quick access tool bar. So it's alt+1 or alt+2 for left or right. saves some time but occasionally you just gotta brute force it
A few suggestions: - There's a lot of PowerPoint that can be done with the keyboard. Alt + JDAA + C(enter), M(iddle), R(ight), L(eft), T(op), B(ottom), Distribute (H)orizontally, Distribute (V)ertically are all life-changers. - Group things. Ctrl+g to group, ctrl+shift+g to ungroup. - Use the format painter. Have a .75-pt dashed line in light grey you want to use as the outline for a text box? Format paint that style right onto a new shape. - Got a style for graphs that you use over and over? Certain font, gridlines / no gridlines, sequence of colors for series, labels, etc.? Save that guy down as a template. Boom, instantly formatted graphs. - The real hardcore slide slingers use a gaming mouse. You know those logitech deals that have nine programmable keys on the thumb? Use those keys to insert text boxes, format, align, whatever you dream of.

+1 pie charts are the devil and actually subtract from the value of a simple column chart (if you're interested in further reading, Edward Tufte's The Visual Display of Quantitative Information is very interesting)
Mechanical keyboards also can have dedicated hardware macro buttons that you can make use of as well, if you're really hardcore. Get Cherry Red or MX Silent switches so you don't drive your coworkers up a wall.

Please advise on how to use format painter if you have only 2010 MSFT Office like banks like EVR and Wells. Also, how do you save a template for graphs and potentially other things down?

Make align objects shortcut #1 on your quick access toolbar, arrange #2 and FP #3.. Logointern is a lifesaver too
