I am Justine Tobin

Hello WSO,

I'm Justine Tobin, many of you know who I am and what I do. For those who don't I am a banker and run my own boutique firm, we often compete with Evercore, Lazard and Morgan Stanley on deals.

Apparently I'm quite notorious on here. Perhaps a few people were upset they weren't good enough to work for me, sorry not sorry. Have fun in the back office or real estate. I've emailed Patrick about the undue harrasment and have not heard anything back, shows how professional he is! I imagine many of you are a bunch of losers, not able to do anything with your lives, but I am a generous person, so I'll help you out. Ask away wso.

I don’t know why you keep saying shitpost. Must not have a legitimate argument.

BTW Patrick WILL be hearing about this harassment. Have a good night, sir.

But its still a passing grade! I'd give a B- for the effort of creating a new account just for this.

Hi Max! I am the real Justine, and I’ll have you know your tone is NOT appreciated! People like you add no value to this website. Not that WSO is has much value to begin with.

Hello Mrs. Tobin,

Is your firm accepting off-cycle interns for the Spring? What is the process to apply?

Sincerely,

Prospective Monkey

Seeing as a how you’re asking for off cycle internships, I don’t think you’d be a good candidate. Don’t take that as an insult, but improve yourself. I’ll actually be speaking at the local community college here in Charlotte, why don’t you fly out. It’ll be a help to you!

No Justine, I didn't know who you were or what you do.

According to LinkedIn your place has under 10 employees.  That doesn't sound like any sort of a target employment opportunity.  Even the place that hired me to dig ditches in high school had more employees. Competing with those firms you mentioned on deals is highly suspect.

I strongly suspect that I've moved more money around with personal actions than your entire firm has combined.  This might be slightly unfair since I'm in AM, but that doesn't make it untrue.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.

Hello,

Im surprised you didn’t know who I was, there are more a few posts on here about me. I’ll have you know, we just closed 2 multimillion dollar deals - both done with firms you may have heard of. Why I am I getting such a bad energy from you? Did someone hurt you? Are you upset in BO asset management job.

No Justine, I've led the launch of well over a dozen funds for a major AM shop while supporting others I inherited with billions in AUM on their own. One of my launches has collected over a billion in AUM.  Your "multimillion dollar deals" may sway some around here, but they'll barely cover the legal and filing fees for a fund launch.

No Justine, I don't work for people like you.  I work for the CEO of a financial services firm that's part of the S&P 500 in a different part of the industry, and the few people between me and him have all been in print and on TV multiple times. (I'm cited, but I suck on TV)

You came on here complaining about negative comments and acting like you had to be respected.  WHY? Nobody here works for you. (apparently almost nobody works for you period)  We're anonymous and while it may be possible to reverse engineer an ID it'll take a lot of time.  It took me 15 seconds to find both your and your firm's linkedin profiles.  The fact that your 'administrative assistant' has the second most finance experience at your firm is just sad.

People will throw things around on the internet, but if you are the biggest bass in that little Nashville pond and think that you can swim in the global ocean without having to worry about sharks, you are sadly mistaken.

If your going to post such a question, at least have the balls to post on under your actual account. Of course you may not have balls, I’m not surprised you are in consulting after all. As for Epistein and the analyst, it never happened. Jeff and I were good friends but now he’s dead.

I DONT UNDERSTAND THE MS OR WHATEVER ITS CALLED? IM HERE TO CLEAR THINGS UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PATRICK THIS SITE IS AWFUL!!!! I HOPE YOU GO OUT OF BUSINESS!!!

Don't waste your time responding to OP. OP is a fake. I asked about the off cycle internship. Tobin in fact does have a winter/spring internship every year, but  OP dismissed my claims and got vetted out.

This ain't Justine; doesn't even sound like something she would right based on her twitter posts; this is just one of the few acolytes-probably intern or analyst-she has at the firm.  Fake news.

Okay guys serious question: How does this lady get away with not paying her analysts? Like I am a college senior and incoming FT at a BB and I can't wait to start earning money because I am super broke, have college loans to pay back, rent to pay. Plus I can't imagine doing all the grunt IB work if it wasn't for the money. WHY WOULD anyone want to work for this woman

Well I think it’s because they’re desperate. They want to be in banking but couldn’t break in, so they go this route. Perhaps they think it’ll be some relevant experience and they can move somewhere else later. Maybe it works out for some, but it’s such a shit firm, that I’d be surprised if someone from the back office didn’t beat you out for a proper ib position.
