If you could take a year off what would you do?

Take my wife around the world and back

I've gotten the opportunity to teach English for a year in a different country before, and always thought it would be cool to just experience living life in a new culture while picking up a new language.

Traveling abroad sounds nice, but I would also consider charity work or spending time with family (for context, both my parents live outside of the country)

Always wanted to spend some time doing charity work in Africa or Asia

Get up at like 12pm every day. Watch YouTube and browse WSO. There's enough going on on both sites that my whole day would be spent on that.

I had this because of a non compete. Lots of time networking, at gym, etc. Traveled a fair bit too but my wife was still working. I think we took 8-9 trips to different countries.

become a skipper and sail the med, Caribbean, etc

I would go to a baseball game in each of the stadiums across the US.

Travel, drink, hook up with way too many chicks, get back in college shape

I doubt traveling is still viable given current situation. I would think about building up some useful skills during this time, probably attending a coding boot camp.

Did a pretty soft year when transitioning out of operating the first time before going into the investment side of things and I spent a lot of time reading, networking by attending events + calls, etc... and really enjoyed that. I know it's not "off" but it is nice to catch up on reading/studying.

Probably hire a topless chef and a sailboat and cruise around the world with 7 chicks and videotape the whole thing and sell the rights to MTV to finance the whole venture.

Sometimes I think about dropping everything to become a goat herder in the Swiss Alps.

For a year off from college though, backpacking through Europe would be my dream
