LinkedIn Jail” is just a term used when your account is restricted by LinkedIn. It can happen due to a number of reasons that I’ll explain to you later. For now, let’s just consider these scenarios:

  • If you receive a strict warning from LinkedIn
  • Unable to send connect requests
  • Get too many IDKs
  • Your requests are mostly flagged as spam

If any of these scenarios apply to your LinkedIn account, that means you’re in LinkedIn Jail. LinkedIn has become the largest professional network and in order to keep the platform transparent and useful, it requires the users to maintain professional behavior.

It has set some terms and conditions for the users. Just like your behavior would be frowned up in a face-to-face meeting,  deviation from the platform standards can get your account restricted or blocked.

Essentially, LinkedIn jail is LinkedIn's way to keep their platform organic. 'LinkedIn Jail' means that you have had a restriction placed on your account because you have had an increase in activity. Most likely, you have reached out to a significant number of users on LinkedIn, which is triggering this response. Because of this, it is incredibly important to keep out of jail if LinkedIn is your main form of lead generation.
