Live abroad during virtual fall classes?

My college classes are completely online in the fall, so I could complete my courses from anywhere. As someone who wanted to go abroad but hasn't had the chance, I've been thinking that maybe I should take this time and live in another country for a bit?

Is this a bad idea? Anyone has any thoughts on where I could go?

What country do you currently live right now? Assuming the U.S, Europe and Great Britain are a viable option due to the currency exchange rate lower than they currently was back compared in 2013 to now.

Studying in the US on the east coast, grew up on the west coast so was thinking about the opportunity to see a bit more of the world!

My study abroad was in Florence, Italy. For some reason they thought I was Italian, but in essence I spoke perfect Italian because I studied a lot of Spanish and Latin. Recommendations are Florence which is touristy, not Spain, people there are pretty mean and hate tourists. Ironically, the economy depends on tourists. Czech Republic, or Germany/Luxembourg. I would recommend the Middle East but it is literally 100 degrees everyday and especially in Kuwait, the dollar is worth 25% of a Kuwaiti Dinar. The money is worth 4 times the U.S dollar.

Congratulations, do you want an award when people speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan, French, Italian, Swiss Italian, Swiss German, German, Russian, Luxembourgish, Czech, Hindi, Punjabi, Arabic, Bengali, Malayalam, Mandarin/ Cantonese, and Japanese.

That's funny.

"Credit Swish" But whats the price for a good in KD? Would a lunch cost about 2.5 KD?

According to the Big Mac index with data from January 2020, a Big Mac on average costs $5.67 in the US versus $3.63 in Kuwait (all in USD).

$3.63 USD is currently 1.12 Kuwati Dinar.

There’s probably a reason why your school is online, and it isn’t unique to America. I’m not sure that you would have much to do if you go abroad. If you’re hoping to meet new people or check out an unfamiliar culture then that might be difficult given current conditions. I wouldn’t want to come down with an illness in a foreign country. You probably won’t die but that doesn’t mean you will be asymptomatic.

I’m staying in the U.S. and will probably go to Montana or Alaska for the semester if they give an online option. Low population density + a ton of natural attractions that allow for social distancing.

I think you should seriously consider doing the semester abroad. While Coronavirus is affecting Europe as well, you can very much get a cultural experience despite restrictions. London is going to open up bars in a week and the parks are full every day of young people hanging out, drinking, sunbathing, etc. Yes there is going to be a 1m distancing rule in effect, but the restaurants are all going to be open and social life will resume. My friends across continental Europe have indicated similar environments in their countries. In a few days, EU is going to be opening up travel to most countries (unfortunately it doesn’t look like the US will be included). You will have freedom of movement.

In my opinion, don’t let the current conditions be the reason you don’t do it as I don’t think they will prove very impactful in the end.

do you know if it’s possible to get to the U.K. from the US? I want to spend the fall semester in London but am afraid they will block out US citizens too like the EU

Right now, it appears to be almost a certainty that flying from the US to the UK will not be permitted in the near term. I’m not sure how these online semesters are going to work, but I imagine that you can still fly over to London even if you had to wait until the restrictions were eased in the middle of the semester? No need to commit in advance?
