Looking for some advice

So this is my first post. I just finished my freshman year at a target school with what I consider a rather disappointing 3.1 GPA. For the past few years I've had quite a large interest in finance and investment banking. I've become involved in the most important finance extra-curriculars at my school, and have spent a substantial amount of time learning basic modeling and valuation techniques. I also browse Thomson One for amusement. This summer however I am not working in a traditional internship. I am working as teller and financial services rep. at a bank. I was offered a traditional boutique IB internship but it was unpaid and I do have expenses to pay so I could not go the full summer without a source of income. What advice would you guys have for someone in this situation with regards to next november and january recruiting. Thanks
