Most of us couldn't get ourselves into jail (for white collar crime) even if we tried.
So in a sense, prison is the ultimate validation in finance.
More than your resume bullshit. Better than some pseudo-networking.
It's the ultimate signaling tool, in that "I've reached ultimate success in my endeavors."
After all, efficacy [did I achieve my goals?] is the greatest badge of honor in our industry (and perhaps life).
We would all love to work for Stevie Cohen. Jordan Belfort gets tens of millions post-prison.
Michael Milken was (and still is) a legend.
Your thoughts?
Don’t tell Martin Shrkeli.
Does sending unsolicited pictures of my penis to my weed guy count as white collar? Cuz that one almost did me in back in '09.
It’s only (off) white collar if you blow a load in (or around) his face.
.
Amazing. You call me a troll and this is your first topic posted:

I am curious as to whether you monkeys watch porn. Please share and discuss below if you do, to what extent you do, and whether it affects anything else in your life.
Thanks
(not a troll post)
nah u just a feg
I'm sure most of us could fabricate statements for a fund and create it out of thin air, sacrificing our long term reputation for jail time ultimately to get clients short term.
You don't have to be a rocket scientist to get in jail. The trick is the people who convince law enforcement that their skill is best used to catch other people in the same crimes and their talents are best used in coordination with the law to avoid jail time after making millions and then continuing to make millions with a get out jail free card contrived out of thin air. Do this my friend, and call me.
"Most of us couldn't get ourselves into jail (for white collar crime) even if we tried." Bet, give me 5 years.
Jordan Belfort wasn't a Wolf of Wall Street, that was a name he gave himself. He had more in common with Nigerian guys who get old ladies to send them their six figure savings accounts than with Cohen or Milken. And I could easily trick people or try to trick people in investing in fake cryptocurrencies, companies, penny stocks, or whatever and go to jail for it
It's pretty wild how Belfort is more known for his financial crimes than Milken who arguably caused the 80s recession.
Junk bonds were never illegal, they are still very widely used today. Milken's downfall came when everyone else started using junk bonds too, and he was worried he couldn't stay ahead, so he cheated and started insider trading.
