Statdisk perhaps, its free.

I hope this is better than the last batch of shit you gave me. Produced more wood than Ron Jeremy. I don't want you to yell, "Reco!" anymore. Know what you should yell? "Timber!" Yeah, Mr. Fuckin' wood.
 

I've used Stata and SAS. Stata's a lot easier to use. Sourcing data from excel and exporting it is very straightforward. It's also great for time series data. Its built in help function is also really great.

SAS can handle much larger data sets, crashes less and seems to be more widely used in the industry though.

If you're just trying to get through the class, Stata is probably your best bet among the 2.
