Agree, I didnt see the need to publish this. Who cares what Donald Trump thinks? Although, this emphasis on whether he was born in the US or not kinda overshadows the fact that he has done a poor job.

Really? You think the US Government simply missed this detail during the presidential registration and election 4 years ago?
I mean I know that the public sector is inefficient, but come on they are not THAT stupid! This is something that I'm sure needs to be validated way in advance before becoming a presidential nominee.
I'm not saying that its fake. I wouldn't really care if it was but I am pretty sure if there was some conceivable way to fuck something up, they could figure it out.

I keep hearing people say this, but do you have any sort of proof or documentation that you can show us that outlines when/how a candidate has to provide a birth certificate in order to run for POTUS? Just curious because I've never seen one.

Ever heard of slavery or voting rights? The Constitution can be amended. I think the current "natural born" requirement for presidency is outdated. What's the difference between Obama and a guy who's born in Indonesia but moves and spends his entire life as a U.S. citizen?
I don't feel the need to defend wholly unjustifiable and archaic laws.
the reason it matters is that it's in the constitution. unless you amend it to change this (which i'm fully in support of as that provision was based on British redcoat spies in 1789), violating it creates a slippery slope where one can violate the constitution on the basis that it's wrong rather than through amendments. once again i definitely think it should be amended.
and as for slavery, the constitution did NOT allow it. it simply did not prohibit it. banning slavery would not have been unconstitutional while allowing a non native born would clearly be.
with that in mind if you thought obama wasn't born here you're an idiot. why the fuck did obama have to show this but not mccain, palin, hilary, bush, reagan, clinton etc.?
your argument is that the Constitution's authority is intrinsic--it's not. I'm not violating it as it would be impossible to violate (unless, by force, you ushered a non natural-born president into office). I think it should be amended and arguing that I should support it because the "Constitution says so" is stupid and begs the fucking question.

solidarity is kinda right, if you think about it. You can't really tell the difference between someone who was born in the U.S. versus someone who was born elsewhere but grew up in the U.S.
Hypothetical example, if Bush's dad was a oil CEO and flew out to Hong Kong for 2 years to manage relationships with Asian oil companies, and Bush Jr. was born in Hong Kong but only spent 1 year there before moving back to the U.S.... that doesn't mean shit. He's still American. He can still be nominated President.
There are tons of multi-national businessmen who have to become expats for 2-3 years in this globalized economy.
The constitution is an old, outdated document. The underlying principles are important, but a lot of the "details" were written not intended for a truly modern, globalized economy, which the founding fathers could not have foreseen.
i never said what he thinks isn't right or wrong, I pointed out what it specifically states in the Constitution. If he thinks it should be amended, do something about it.
It won't be amended in the near future. The only thing you can do is hope to convince as many people as possible. Prospects look woefully bleak at this point... just look at all the "birthers" Trump managed to excite...
