That most likely is a misrepresenation of the bill, if not outright false. Even if there are some people who will actually make more by staying home, the dollar figure would be small potatoes.

They're are many debatable points about the bill(s) and what is the best approach. Worrying about whether or not a fast food worker is conceivably getting a few extra shekels is, in my opinion not high on the list of tihngs to focus on.

I agree with this sentiment. Okay so the person who cleaned hotels or cooks burgers earns a couple extra bucks now that they’re home? So what? Good for them. It’s not going to make or break society. It’s not like you jump from $30k a year to suddenly $100k on unemployment.

Like stated above, in comparison to the billions of dollars we’re shoveling over to big businesses (and have over the past two decades), who cares? Even if the workers earned an extra $10k (and that’s stretching it), it barley moves the needle.

10 million workers have filed for unemployment in just two weeks. I doubt the people who are lucky enough to still have a job and be working are running home and quitting their jobs for a few extra bucks over the next few weeks... they're hanging on to those jobs for dear life.

The real "not smart decision by our government" is that companies on $50B+ annual revenue can choose to run themselves recklessly and irresponsibly to the point they're near insolvency after just a month of lost sales because they know the government will cut them a huge check for billions.

I mean...there are some reaaaaallllyy dumb people out there. But yeah, probably not much drive for those who are collecting higher unemployment benefits than their old job provided. I think a lot of recent government actions have been rushed. For example, if you listen to Chamber of Commerce folks answer questions about the PPP, there are quite a few questions that they have no idea how to answer. It doesn't help that the government changes these at the eleventh hour either.
