Pre-MBA Scholarships and Summer Networking Opportunities

So you’re making the transition from the working world to the world of business school. The summer before matriculating can be a little bit awkward for someone who’s been working his or her tail off for the past several years straight. You’re not exactly trying to go “above and beyond” in your current job because you’re moving in a few months.

You might get ahead of the power curve by moving to your new business school sooner and getting adjusted earlier, but the juice might not be worth the squeeze. So what is a future MBA student supposed to do with the summer before business school?

So if you want to start leaning forward in your finance career search without having to quit your job just yet, here are some suggestions for Pre-MBA scholarships and events to look out for this summer:

Would be awesome to land a BB SA gig before even starting b-school if you have IB in mind. That's awesome, thanks for sharing.

Apparently, Asians are not considered a "minority." I've had this problem with getting "ethnic" scholarships since high school. Just motivates me to work harder though.

You're motivated to work harder because you aren't "handed" scholarships for your race?

I like the concern regarding diversity - it is not race. Diversity means you have a unique background / life experience, that offers a different perspective on the typical BS. Veterans are especially valuable to companies because of their work ethic, leadership skills, and tax breaks they earn the companies - so do your part and serve.

Asians are probably not included with these offers because they are intelligent, successful, and generally not from underprivileged backgrounds. I have not done studies on this, but being Asian and all of the above it makes sense.
