Rapping your way to a spot in IB
I thought resumes that said "I'm a rap star" got trashed pretty quickly.

This guy is going to DOMINATE business school applications. I actually may steal his story and use it in my essays this year.
I suspect this guy is extraordinarily annoying.
Can you imagine working with a 22-year-old aspiring rapper for 15 hours per day?
Wayne Brady would have to choke a bitch.
The only thing I could wonder while I was reading this was how long until this kid gets fired... I haven't had a chance to listen to any of his lyrics yet, but I'd imagine that Goldman wouldn't be down with the publicity this guy's gonna get by rapping, especially if he uses any explicit lyrics.
His shit is weak. Good thing he has i-banking going for him.
Yeah, I don't think GS is going to look at this favorably.
I'd imagine something like this came up in the interview stages...
That is assuming he mentioned it. Rap music might be popular, but I wouldn't say it has a positive image among many groups. No way in hell GS would want their name associated with it. If this guy rapped under a different name and kept the GS part secret, then fine, but coming out on CNBC and announcing that you work for GS and rap is not going to go over well.
IMO
The guy founded his own distribution group for his music or his and unc colleagues' music: http://thinkopation.com/ I think he would put that on his resume. Or most kids trying to find things to put on their resumes would if they have a decent enough of a following.
Nice find Kanon. Kid looks pretty entrepreneurial.
this guy sucks hard. lyrics are so unoriginal.
I don't know, did you not see this line? --> “Wish I had a girl I would call her…and tell her throw away the Domino’s meet me at Delmonico’s. I’d wear the finest of designer clothes,”
I have to assume you wouldnt know that he was a jay-z wannabe from day to day conversation...that would be unimaginably annoying
He's not going to get anywhere with those weak lyrics and/or beats. At least he has something to do after work, lol. It's not likely he will be sticking around in IB for too long. I imagine he will make some money and leave to do his own thing.
Regards
He's not going to make any money anywhere because a) his lyrics suck, and b) Goldman will throw his ass out on the streets for making a mockery of the company/his job.
I hope he has some strong connects in the music biz, becuse his days in finance are through.
His music is cheesy, but I doubt he'd be fired over this. I only skimmed a couple of songs, but I don't think it's too offensive.
I wonder if he knows how to dougie.
