Shallow NYC gold diggers

God, these girls are absolutely intolerable. At least the gold digging chicks in Los Angeles are hot. These chicks are horrendous. Oh well; that's NYC for you.

I second the above poster. Those girls were far from anything that a banker should be proud to bring out in public. I'm not too worried though, by the time we start making enough money to be "F.B.F.'s" (yes, i read the website) again, they'll be too old to be anything but cougars. Karma's a b!tch.

the funniest part about these women is that they've convinced themselves that they're some sort of hot commodity, when in reality they are third-tier talent at best. It always cracks me up how women in nyc try their hardest to live the sex & the city life, and if they can't get there they just pretend they do. Silly little sleezies

http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2009/01/defending_the_dating_a_banker.html

Those poor girls. They socially(?) killed themselves. By giving out their names to the nyt, they are all over the internet (through google search). And 99% of the content in negative (e.g. sleazy, greedy, lazy, stupid, bitch)

People should no better. Never give out your name to big publication papers/mags in the age of the internet. I made the same mistake with the WSJ in 2006 but the content wasn't nowhere as negative/controversial.

P.s.- side note- I think the girl second from the left is perfect. She seems like the "helpless-girly-girl" types that I love.

To OP, are for reals a virgin or just have that little game? Didn't you start that tread on how to leverage your new role to get women or something, or where to find women?

Or you can be like your namesake and find a monk/priest and call him master.

Regarding the time I signed for an internship, same situation, old co-workers/interns would see my linkedin account updates and they'd invite me to holiday parties in order to "catch up."

A few thoughts here: 1. I guess this means you are one of those people that got an offer and went directly to update your LinkedIn profile to say "Incoming Summer Investment Banking Analyst/Associate". I thought that was just a myth/urban legend that people actually did that. 2. When people update their LinkedIn profile, it is very common to prompt people to think to themself, "I haven't spoken to [BossorBust] in a while, this seems like a reason to reach out and see how they're doing.". But, I guess we see what we want to see. 3. Gold diggers don't marry Associates.

3. Gold diggers don't marry Associates.

For number 1, its becoming increasingly prevalent. Some consulting firms actually encourage their new hires to do so, to be better identified by candidates in the class below them. Especially important at bigger schools. I haven't seen it for interns, just FT hires

3.

And while there are true gold diggers out there, a lot of the times you almost encourage your wife to spend some dough because you're never there. Had to travel half way around the world and miss your 10th wedding anniversary? "Honey, why don't you take a few of your friends to some ridiculously overpriced day spa and go shopping?" And a little red box with gold trim is accompanying you on your way back from HK. It's the price you pay for working all the time.

But accessories for a poodle? That's just weird.

I could care less to be honest. Feel bad for the guy who overpaid for a depreciating and over supplied commodity.

This is why I exclusively stick to ultra short term leases. Usually by the day. But if it is an exceptional specimen I might rationalize the late return fee.

stop worrying about what other people are doing with their SO, no one cares what you think, and judging someone else's relationship decisions is an easy way to lose friends. worry about yourself, and know that this isn't a "banking" thing, it's anything that's higher income. attorneys, doctors, hell even engineers. there are leeches everywhere, so get off your high horse.

congrats on the b school deal as well as the job, but whining about someone's facebook posts? c'mon man, if you went to a target you should know there's a button that allows you to unfollow someone, while still remaining friends, and they will never know.

What's the matter? Can't bag a rich one yourself? Try changing your look and being less jelly.

You must have had some really loser co-workers and acquaintances if they're kissing your ass just because you got into the likes of darden/fuqua/stern.

I've experienced this myself. I know it's real because I've experienced an old girl from college who wanted to befriend me years later thinking that I would subsidize her wannabe golddigger lifestyle.

Tinder is epic. Get a fake GPS app and build the pipeline.

IMO, I like gold diggers. You know their price. Now it's up to you to give them a taste, hit it and move on. Marrying a wallet leach is silly and in 5-10 years you'll be stuck with a beat, old model. If your goal is to essentially buy pussy why would you lock yourself down with one. They won't be good wives, good mothers or good humans. Treat them like you treat a rental. Use, abuse and return to sender.

Not quite sure why one is "better" than the other. Not all guys can be good-looking; not all guys can be rich. In either case the woman is with you because of an extrinsic quality that she values, whether it's looks or wealth/success.

I hate to break it to the younger men on this forum...all women are gold diggers to a certain extent. Some are more obvious about it and some just want to make sure that they are with someone that can support them and provide stability. Either way the better looking the woman, the more they can trade those looks for the person that will offer them the lifestyle they want. Simply a matter of supply and demand.

Sluts going to sloot bro get over it. It is all part of the game good looking chick with no working skills wants to have the baller lifestyle and below Average to average looking guys want a model wife you both get what you want. Although I would say if you are good looking guy and rich you probably just should not get married as you get the short end of the deal.

This is very true for some people. A guy I used to work with, who looked like an ogre but was loaded, used to just go for arm candy. He was always married or in long term relationships and the girls were absolute 10's. Dumb as sacks of rocks but he didn't care. He didn't want a great conversationalist. He wanted a hot woman that he could screw anytime he wanted and someone to bring out to show off that he could get these women, and the women got a nearly unlimited bank account, to live in luxury places and drive whatever cars they wanted. He got what he wanted, she(they) got what they wanted.

The easiest and most accurate way to put this, your money to her is the same as her looks are to you. That's true of all women, but in the USA they'll just say they are attracted to a guy who is "talented" or "ambitious" or "driven" vague terms that ultimately boil down to money or likely to have money in the future. In other countries (basically everywhere else that doesn't speak english) women will come out and say they value how much money a man has, granted there's a cultural reason for that. On some levels the whole thing disgusts me, especially anything along the lines of if you've "fucked up" (whatever the hell that means) you have to make it up to her by opening your wallet.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I know what you mean and on some levels I agree, but don't delude yourself into thinking that isn't the case with all women. Or at least 99% because I know one of you is going to point to some exception to the rule you saw one time on your way to work. The important thing is establishing the relationship dynamic you want relatively early on, as in, if you aren't willing to spend everything on a girl, don't spend everything to get the girl and expect that to change.

Pretty much this.

From what I gather I think it's slightly less the case for girls who already have a lot of money or have a means of getting it, ie career driven types like corporate lawyer chicks for instance. That particular breed seems to be more looking for a healthy and intelligent sperm donor that she can mold and control. I might be wrong but that's the impression I get.

Another point that's getting overlooked is that by the time you're an MD and married or with girlfriend, you don't have time to take care of the kids / house / life so your wife/gf stays home and takes care of shit. She stays home, loses her sense of fulfillment, especially when you're still gone 12 hrs each day, so in order to compromise you're more than happy to open the coffers. Wife spends money on the house / life / kids then feels fulfilled.

Most middle-aged guys don't have a problem increasing their wife's budget if it means coming home to a non-shit storm environment. And getting laid.

Like putting a band-aid on a head wound. If you want a woman to fulfill that role, go get a Brazilian (for example), looks like a model, will do all of that and be more than happy with whatever 'budget' you deem appropriate and you won't run into any of those problems.

Some of you dweebs post such moving, moronic shit that I felt the need to take 45 seconds out of my life to make a throwaway acct

Seeing as how I possess these purportedly magical Fallopian tubes for which the 17-year-olds on this site pine and whine, I'll give you my opinion: most girls (esp. In NY) are lazy cunts who have money on their minds.

They want "security" aka someone to take care of them and buy them big fat engagement rings that they can Instagram. They want babies on babies on babies aka collateral so their husbands can't leave them later on. They want to quit their jobs as stylists/dancers/art assistants so that they can sit on their Restoration Hardware sofas in the Hamps during summers and binge watch Kim and Kourtney Take the Adirondacks and get fat because—guess what?—they're pregnant again.

But they are bb qts and you put up with their shit for that sole fact so get over it and stop complaining! Such is life, young virgins. Such is life.

Super blunt but very true, and it's something naive WSO monkeys need to hear.

I laugh whenever a guy says "I want to be with a girl who likes me for who I am." It's one of the most annoying cliches in modern society. First, what exactly defines "who I am"? Are factors such as height, looks, money, family background, success, not part of who you are? Then they reply, "Well, those are external factors and do not get to the core of who I "really" am." Again, this assertion is terribly naive. Although being successful does not make one more inherently valuable as a human being (by that I mean that rich and poor alike deserve basic rights and human dignity), it does make one more valuable as a MATE. This is the simple product of thousands of years of biological and cultural evolution. You simply can't fight it.

Second, when I look at all the couples I know, there are very few couples where the man is less successful than the woman. And likewise there are very few cases where the man is significantly more attractive than the woman. The single women in my b-school badly want to meet someone who will make tons of cash so they can quit their corporate job and work from home or something super laid-back (i.e., a fashion "startup", designing jewelry, personal fitness trainer, etc.). They won't say this in public, but I have heard this on multiple occasions during private conversations. Feminists will hate hearing this because it goes against their notion of how smart successful women should behave and strive for. No matter how loudly they yell, the feminists can't overcome basic biology.

Use and abuse bros. Male value increases. You can be 35 and cherry pick youngins or opportunitically slay over 30. Love is a fallacy and children will now let you live forever. Spaghetti monster isn't going to high five you when you fade into darkness.

Get married, but do so way after you've crush enough to realize pzzy has zero value.

If you're a halfway decent looking guy and work in this industry you'll come across gold diggers. It's not hard to sniff them out if you've been around the block once or twice. They're a lot of fun but always catch and release. I don't take as hard a line as some of the other guys on here, I do believe there are girls who aren't focused on money. They're very rare, and if you find one hold onto her.

I'm glad WSO can be real about this stuff. It's not exactly politically correct, even if it's true, and I feel like other sites would give the "women aren't gold diggers, that's a generalization" BS.

I have heard women firsthand say all throughout college and even high school they're going to marry rich; they don't even try to really conceal their gold-digging ways in my experience. Mothers are to blame, as they train their young ones early on to marry for money. If you don't want to gamble 50% of your net worth, I advise not getting married. And don't think pre-nups will save you, as they can be invalidated for all sorts of reasons like, for example, the women feeling "pressured." Women will be extremely deceptive though - I know I've been deceived my fair share of times.

If Ken Griffin, the founder of one of the world's largest hedge funds, is having to to go to court in order to enforce his pre-nup, there is little hope for us mere mortals.

I would imagine a guy smart enough to be a senior banker would be smart enough to know he has a gold digger on his hands...he probably doesn't care either way

What would some early warning signs be (in the first 2-3 dates) that you are out with a gold digger?

I was out with a girl a few weeks ago and in both the first and second dates she randomly mentioned salary numbers and seemed to be looking at my reaction. Can't make this stuff up.

Basically any questions or actions that try to gauge how much money you make or have. I think a really common sign is when she tries to change your proposed date venue to something more expensive like a fancy restaurant.

Every city has gold diggers, but LA is especially egregious. Tons of hot chicks who can't make it as a model or an actress and don't have the brains to work in a real job. Stay the fuck away.

Update: she's been in my apartment all day. I haven't come home in all day and I'm honestly panicking. I want to tell her to fuck off but I'm afraid she'll go ape shit on me. I don't have cameras in my apartment either so if she attacks me and I fight back I won't have any evidence. Help?!?!

She knows my address and phone number. I'm afraid she'll stalk me or something. Anyways I'm doing the date idea, it's scheduled for 8PM tonight.

Dude, tell her nicely that your lease doesn't allow it or something like that. If that doesn't work, just tell her she has to leave, no excuses needed. If she refuses or gets violent, walk outside and call the police. Inform them that there is a stranger in your house who refuses to leave. Too bad you don't live in Texas....

I would walk in with the police .. or have police waiting outside the door ,at least, so you have witnesses, just in case. Let us know that happened..

First off, we know you're bullshitting. There's no way that you were smart and capable enough to get where you are and you don't know how to handle this situation.

Even if you aren't trolling (which we all know you are) then the solution is obvious. I'd tell you to grab your balls but you obviously don't have any....so instead do what you need to do and tell her to leave. If she doesn't leave then it's too easy to call up LAPD and get her taken out.

Had something similar to this happen to a guy I know... Gotta be careful. In his case the girl got so mad she called the police and claimed he raped her. He was then arrested, stayed overnight in jail and it took about 2 days for her to finally say she was lying.... was a CRAZY situation....

"If you want to succeed in this life, you need to understand that duty comes before rights and that responsibility precedes opportunity."

Before I start sorry for the wait; I've been really busy lately. I forgot about this post until today. Anyways I took Depository's advice and took her out to dinner. As soon as we sat down I just told her she is not moving in and we have no monogamous relationship. She stood up, took the small glass of water we had initially given to us, and splashed it in my face then walked out. I haven't seen or heard from her since.

Lesson learned. Looking back, I messed up even taking her back to my apartment. If I wanted to have sex I should have just taken her to a hotel. I feel like an idiot... pussy makes men do crazy things.
