Had the same problem.
The solution: new pair of sperrys, which I didn't mind.
throw them in the freezer overnight or use some medicated powder.
To be clear, I think jec means to put the sperry's in the freezer, not the aborted fetus.
I tried both...the sperrys dont smell today! YAY! but the fetus leaked all over my ice cubes :( do you think i can still use them to make my margaritas?

b) Sperry Shoe Freshener - http://www.sperrytopsider.com/store/SiteController/sperry/productdetail… Only problem here is that it doesn't eliminate the odor, simply masks it.
c) fill them with boiling hot water and dish soap, let them soak overnight, empty in the morning, and let dry for a day
d) acquire a new pair

Just buy a new pair and make sure you use something like Sof Sole Matrix Sneaker Balls.
Febreeze that ish or get new ones. I wear mine until they fall apart because I hate breaking in new pairs.
I did this 2 summers ago and I swear it works:
Boil some black tea (like 10 bags) and put it in a big tuppeware container that you can put your feet in. Stick your feet in the tea (it doesn't have to be hot, but warm helps.. plus it feels good) for about 2 solid hours. It does something with the pores of your feet and they didn't smell all summer until about august, then the stench was back.
Don't add sugar like you're making sweet tea.. not sure if I needed to add this but yeah, don't do that.

Soak them in Oxy Clean. Seriously, it works like a charm.
Replace the insole.
Put baking soda into them at night. Then crumple up a newspaper and put that into them. In the morning pull the paper out and your good to go.
put drying powder in your shoe after you wear them... the end.

While we're on the topic, whats the best way to break in a fresh pair that is a it tight? Ive been wearing them with socks around the house but my feet are hurting. This is my 3rd pair and same size as the others which fit me well, but these are really stubborn!

Keep the box & cardboard that comes inside of the shoe. After every use, place the cardboard back into your Sperry's, and place them back into the box. They'll keep the "freshness" of a new shoe for as long as you do this.
