Stay single for senior yr or date girl from SA internship?

Been seeing this girl for last month since the internship szn started in nyc. 2-3 times a week. Like her a lot, but I’m iffy on doing long distance for senior yr. She goes to school on the other side of the country too so would be difficult to see her.

Thoughts? Anyone date a girl they met during their internship summer successfully? Or do I stay single for single yr fellas

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here's what you need to consider:

  1. Long-Distance Challenges: Many WSO users highlight the difficulty of maintaining long-distance relationships, especially when both parties are busy with demanding schedules. If you're already hesitant about the distance, it might be a sign to reconsider.

  2. Focus on Senior Year: Senior year is often seen as a unique time to focus on personal growth, networking, and preparing for your career. Some users suggest staying single to fully embrace these opportunities without the added stress of a long-distance relationship.

  3. Success Stories Exist, But Rare: While there are examples of people successfully dating someone they met during an internship, it often requires strong communication, mutual understanding, and a shared commitment to making it work. If you both feel strongly about each other and are willing to put in the effort, it could be worth a shot.

  4. Evaluate Your Priorities: Think about what will bring you the most happiness and fulfillment. If you genuinely like her and see potential for a long-term relationship, it might be worth trying. However, if you're unsure or feel the distance will be too much, staying single could be the better choice.

Ultimately, the decision depends on your priorities and how much you're willing to invest in the relationship. If you do decide to give it a shot, clear communication and setting expectations will be key. If not, enjoy your senior year and focus on building your future!

If you keep texting her and things are going well, why not keep a good thing going? I'm a very earnest and sincere person, and long-distance isn't any big thing for me, so if it were me, I would just sustain and grow it wherever I am. I don't see any reason to bring someone else into the mix. Be such a good person that she won't want someone right where she is. Make it so that she'll want you to be with her some day.
