For home office I have a Filco Majestouch Ninja 2 with Cherry MX Brown Switches. It's Japanese made and very durable (I've had it for 8+ years). The Brown switches are satisfying to type on but very loud, so wouldn't use it in the office.

If anyone has recommendations for a quieter keyboard for office use, would love to know.

qk65 (boba u4t switches, osume tsukimi / gmk norse keycaps) + separate numpad that’s layered for fn keys

I’d go to a best buy or Microcenter or something, they usually have keyboards that you can try out. The big brands have a bunch of different types of keys (some clicky, some smooth, some loud or quiet) and buy a decent one that you like. You spend so much time with it, it makes sense to upgrade to something nice that you like

Das ultimate. Lefty mouses are a problem but keyboards are easy

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.

At work I have a Corsair K70 with speed switches. Not my favorite to type on but it's relatively quiet and has held up very well over a few years of use.

At home I have a Logitech G915 with clicky switches. Just got this one the other week but the typing experience is much better. A bit loud for an office though.

I have an obnoxiously loud Corsair K70 mechanical keyboard and I love it. The tactile response is superb.

The common trait among these comments is what colour switches you want. Ignore title

I’m referring to Cherry MX switches, so look for these in your keyboards dependant on what you want.

Red: Quiet, smooth press

Blue: Clicky, bumpy press

Brown: In between red and blue

Speed: Reduced distance required to actually recognise the key being pressed (imo a bad thing for ib when everyone lives in that twitchy-caffeinated state)

my favourites are browns they’re smooth to press but not too loud of a click

Keychron V6 with brown switches. tactile and satisfying but if you type hard like I do, you may need to be a little gentler to not annoy your colleagues. the wireless version would be dope but it's not necessary, just helps your layout look a little neater. absolute workhorse, and actually makes typing fun

Why it rocks:

  • Topre switches (on the FC660C) are a cult favorite—tactile, quiet, and buttery smooth
  • High-end build, extremely quiet for an office
  • Near zero rattle, consistent feel across the board

Who it’s for:
Typing purists who want something classy and long-lasting with a classic layout.
