Yes, several grocery stores (garden of edn, gristedes, morton williams) sell cases or 30s. if you have a car or access to one, head up to the distributor in northern manhattan (either in the bronx or right before the bronx) and you can pick up a bunch of cases for real cheap. otherwise you're stuck picking up a couple six packs. hope that helps.

Great. Thanks, NYCEmpire.

Will have to look into heading to that distributor. I found one up on 115th St. How cheap are we talking?

soitwouldseemAre you guys telling me that in NYC you cant go to a local grocery store and buy a case of beer?
True for me. Beer, in itself, is extremely accessible (pretty much can always be within 5 minutes walking distance of getting some). Although, I'd say the places in my area sell about 70 percent six packs, 20 percent twelve packs, 10 percent eighteeen packs. The 18's are rare and I have never seen a case sold, hence why I created this thread.

Exceptions apparently apply at K-Mart (the one I know of is in Penn Station) and the beer distributor in Harlem.

On a side note - never, ever, ever buy beer from a convenience store unless absolutely necessary. I dropped approx $18 on a six pack of Heineken.

I don't think I could live in NY. In chicago I was always able to get a case of something. And it was 10 for and 18 of bud.
