Why does nobody care about the Epstein files?

There will be mass protests over culture war topics, but when a network of the most powerful people in politics, business, entertainment, and law are all fucking 11 year olds together - and there's ONE guy at the center of it all - who has business and personal ties to foreign and domestic businesses and intelligence - nobody seems to care? Sure we all "care" but to me, this is the greatest discovery and scandal of our lifetimes.

How is the FBI not pouring all their resources into investigating this? I mean we know the answer, but how are the American people not even demanding for Kash Patel's resignation? When nutjobs talk about "The Illuminati," "Lizard People," and "The Deep State" - is this not it?

Trump holding up Epstein letter

To all the pedo defenders on here: please explain, without bringing up Biden or Obama, why Ghislaine Maxwell got moved to a cushy low security prison (with computer access, custom made meals, gym access, etc.) after meeting with Trump officials.

You're wrong - it's actually "than."

I felt sicken reading some of the content of the emails. I hope everyone goes to jail even Trump if he's implicated. And I say this as a Republican / GOP Voter (although I admittedly think I might just be anti-government at this point as I might stop voting for either party because I'm fed up with both sides).

I try to avoid any non-business news about Epstein and the wars that are going on in the world because honestly, it just really messes with my head / day. May be selfish but the world is just so f**ked up nowadays that it's just too depressing to try to stay up-to-date big news pieces.

Controversial

I mean I'm conservative and I definitely think anyone who is implicated and if there's a proper legal process that goes through evidence and they're found guilty - they should go to prison.

That being said, I think the economy and America maintaining its superpower position is the most important thing for freedom/global progress, and I think the democrats would unfortunately move things in the opposite direction, so I have to "lean" right-wing.

I don't agree with how they do everything or their stance on all issues, and I think Trump could be a lot smarter/smoother/more mature + compassionate and could accomplish more, but I think the right have their heads screwed on their shoulders a lot better than the next most relevant/likely alternative (the democrats).

Can only laugh at this part..

Okay let's examine in more detail and I'd love to understand your perspective because right now I I'm not sure I can empathize with you but I'd like to try.

In my view:

Key Issues/Priorities for Left:

  • Transgender rights
  • DEI (and btw not socio-economic diversity or diversity of thought, but diversity in power across race/religion/gender/sexual preferences in bed).
  • Taxing/eating the rich
  • Spreading communist values (see Mamdani/NY)
  • Importing the third world and giving them money (from the rich) to secure more votes into the future)
  • Killing the oil/banking industry (which we know our world needs regardless of advancements in sustainable tech for at least the next 5 decades)

Key Issues/Priorities for Right:

  • Stopping illegal immigration, reducing strain on existing infrastructure, reducing fraud
  • Economic revitalization of the U.S. (strategies for bringing middle-class jobs back to Americans)
  • Reducing crime (look at red states vs. blue states stats)
  • Strengthening US Miltary (driving factor for economic superpower positioning, e.g. nobody would use the dollar today still if they weren't all scared of America).
  • Promoting Christian/Western values (freedom, entrepreneurship, rights for women, human rights, family-oriented values, etc.)

End Result with the Left:

  • America loses its superpower status due to failed military
  • The middle class dwindles further due to socialist movement
  • Non-western/christian values become more normalized/status-quo in America
  • China becomes dominant, the American empire falls, we all live sadder poorer lives as we become perpetually dependent upon the rest of the world.

End Result with the right is the opposite and you can already see it.

Are there huge problems with the right? Yes.

I very much dislike the deportations of people who have lived here for 10+ years, I don't like that people can't be free to express themselves as they wish (let trans people do what they want, just don't preach it down peoples throats in grade 6 sex ed class), I dislike the aggressive truthsocial/X posts from the president, very unprofessional and non-role model like, and I really dislike this whole ties to Epstein thing if the allegations have evidence-based merit through a fair impartial trial.

But I know which side is better for the western world/civilization.

This is genuinely so weird to read. How does Trump constantly antagonizing our allies and pushing them all toward China  while cozying up to Putin and other morons help American better maintain its superpower position?

Democrats bad though, I guess?

It's like when people say they're voting Republican for the economy even though ten of the eleven US recessions between 1953 and 2020 began under Republican presidents.

I'll try to explain my point of view.

  1. On Antagonizing Allies

I think the way he handled Canada was poor. I think if instead of being offensive, rude, and mocking, he approached the problem by presenting Canadians an offer whereby:

  • if you were in a high-skill profession, owned a (decent) business, or were in the trades then you would be offered: a) American citizenship; b) 1:1 match on retirement/pension; and c) support for dealing with potential Canadian gov't clawbacks that would undoubtedly arise if this were realized

Then I think 10-20% of all Canadians and 60-70% of all "high-value" Canadians would immediately leave Canada for the U.S., after which almost immediately Canada would be forced into a "restructuring" due to a lack of skilled-labour and huge drop in GDP + recession, from which point the US can easily acquire the remainder for "cheap".  This is an oversimplification but that's how I think that should have been handled.

2. On Europe/Mexico/Other:

Trump Admin used their negotiating position (military strength, economic prosperity) to force the other parties (EU, China, Russia, and American Multinationals who have moved away jobs away) back to the bargaining table to re-write trade agreements, military pacts, and business policies/guidelines that are in my view (and the admin's) good for the United States.

This is no different than when a bank leverages its "enforcement" buttons to bring a bad sponsor back to the table to renegotiate a loan that doesn't work equally for both sides anymore. Let's be honest, the United States evidently needed a "reset" given how bad things have become since the 2010s vs. the 80s-00s during America's golden era.

3. On China/Russia specifically:

Who's "cozying" up to China/Russia exactly?

  • India is their neighbour and was already cozy.
  • The EU have never been able to stop purchasing energy from Russia despite the Trump admin pushing over and over to get them to buy American instead.
  • China was beginning to apply pressure economically in the United States' backyard (South America) and Venezuela + the chinese port scandals + the drug trafficking is proof of that. The USA is forcing that to stop.

So I honestly see more evidence of the U.S. pushing China back than the opposite rhetoric that I think you might be suggesting in your comment above.

I don't think Russia or China are inherently "bad" actors, but I definitely don't want them controlling the world. The current admin in my view has done more to prevent that than what I think the Democrats under Biden would have done.

It's like when people say they're voting Republican for the economy even though ten of the eleven US recessions between 1953 and 2020 began under Republican presidents.

Correlation =/= Causation. There's also lags between policy vs. outcome, so I don't think this statistic is very helpful at driving any kind of conclusion.

Democrates =/= bad - it's more so just the current narratives and actions that the current version of democrats have taken is not what I think would be best for America and the "West" as a whole.

Is there a single country, other than maybe Israel, that is closer to that has moved towards America and away from China today vs the Biden administration?

Threatening trade wars and chickening out over and over and over again with every US ally while China just does nothing and wins.  I hate the Chinese Communist Party more than anyone but Trump is certainly making their job easy.

I honestly don't have a strong enough handle on the economic facts to know what is the true net-net on the tariff strategy/trade wars as of yet but I'd love to hear your perspective on why you believe China "wins" and why America "lost" from these actions and if you have any objective and recent data that you're referencing.

What a joke of an opinion.

I hate Democrats but I still don't see why anyone would ever prefer the Republican Party or even want to associate with any actual Republicans. Dumbest people I've ever seen in my entire life. Or filthy rich, somewhat politically uninvolved and deeply antisocial or at the very least amoral. The only interest the seem to have is piss of "the left" or "liberals" or to lower their own tax burden (which they don't give a shit about anyway because they're soo wealthy that they can build their own communities plus infrastructure anyway)

I understand why someone would prioritize Economic issues. What do you think Trump has done that improved the Economic situation? His tariffs are just destroying the economy. And the only actual Bill he passed is substantially lowering taxes for obscenely rich people, while the US deficit is exploding and American infrastructure is crumbling. DOGE was a massive failure, and his repeated intrusion into Fed Policy undermined trust in the USD, as did his tariffs which I must repeat make absolutely no sense from an Economic point of view. One can argue about very small percentage tariffs that improve the terms of trade, but most of these "optimal tariff rates" are way below 1%, let alone 10%. Also, the reason he cites as a reason to do this is that "we're getting ripped off" because people send us goods for USD? We're only able to do that because the USD is the reserve currency of the world and it is like that because of the trust that investors all over the world have (or, at this point, had) in the USA. He doesn't understand how trade works, or he's simply lying to get his stupid based on board while actually enriching himself somehow by doing all of this nonsense. Trump also fired a bunch of IRS personnel, which is pretty much the only actual revenue generating part of the Federal Government. A new hire in the IRS usually earns more taxes than their salaries cost the Government. It makes no sense to fire those people, in fact you'd hire more if you actually want to lower the deficit. I haven't even mentioned his disastrous foreign policy, which is a different issue entirely. I'll just say that US technology usually came from fundamental research out of the military industrial complex, and american technological supremacy was deeply connected to american military expenditure. Europe was kept weak and dependant, now we forced them to be more potent and independent, with the potential risk of them becoming a technological adversary to us in the future? How does that make sense?

Compare that to Biden, whom admittedly was a senile old man, but still had competent advisors that he listened to. His inflation reduction act poured money into critical infrastructure and increased taxes mainly on rich folks, basically taking out hundreds of billions of Dollars out of the economy over the next decade (hence the name "Inflation reduction act", which had been ridiculed by Republicans since it combined spending and higher tax income though the Republicans in media only mentioned the "spending" part to make the name "Inflation Reduction Act" seem untruthful and cynical.). Even the high inflation rates in 2022 weren't connected to Fiscal Policy mistakes, but to Powell's insistence on keeping rates low because of "inflation was transitory" and mainly caused by "temporary supply chain disruptions".

Trump is an absolute disaster of a President and if anyone is unable to see this I must unfortunately assume that they're either not really into politics, full of misinformation, ideologically biased for some reason or simply too stupid. He's insanely insecure and lashed out at the most insignificant nonsense ever, using the full force of the US state to get revenge on individuals that wronged him. He's suing the US for damaged caused because of his indictment and will make his own DOJ settle with him for Billions of Dollars. He made money off of his based by pushing his own scam crypto Coin???? He is unpredictable, impulsive, vindictive, hateful, clearly narcissistic, increasingly demented. He lies constantly, unashamedly about things almost everyone knows is false. The only people I can even think of that support him are the Evangelicals because those people actually want the world to end just so they can see Jesus????? We are being held hostage by an alliance of religious radicals, antisocial corporate zombies and wealth-inheritors, white collar crime families and frankly simply mentally insane troglodytes and buffoons. And you're SERIOUSLY telling me there's not ONE Democrats you'd prefer to this? Can you at least think of a Republican? I wouldn't mind Thomas Massie Rand Paul, although I disagree with them on pretty much every single issue. At least the Libertarian part of the Republican party hasn't completely lost its mind yet.

No, the public clearly does care because we're seeing people get cancelled just for having a photo with him 20 years ago, or sending him an email that is likely harmless with the full context, but can be twisted into sounding nefarious.

The Epstein Saga is another version of the MeToo movement, where we see a split between genuine victims and women who have turned hurling rape accusations into a full-time profession.

Unfortunately majority of the spotlight--in terms of press interviews, not the actual content in the emails--is going towards the grifters. Basically, women who met Epstein when they were 18-22 and were willing to get flown to exotic locations for sex in exchange for money, an elite social circle, and a possible "modeling" career. They're no different than Instagram models who get flown out to Dubai or OnlyFans models selling their nudes on the internet.

What's changed now is that there's more money in extracting from Epstein's Victim Compensation Fund than having sex with a rich guy, so that's what these women are doing now. I'm not saying this is all of the accusers, but definitely a sizable portion of them. There should genuinely be more attention on treating adult women as fully accountable grown-ups instead of as children who couldn't have known better.

No one is brave enough to call out this distinction because they're afraid of being called a pedophile. This is literally modern-day cancel culture a la MeToo and wokeism.

If the women were 18-22. this would not be a topic at all.

If you are going to make a claim, please provide supporting facts.  Prove that the majority of the Epstein Victim Compensation Fund money went to women who were adults when they met Epstein.

Since most of the victims' are anonymous, I'm guessing you just pulled that statistic out of your ass to provide free online PR for pedophiles.

the US Attorney/Prosecutor should be the one responsible to make "justice", but when it is elected by the President, and the President is retard, to begin with (but "legitimate" because it was voted by a majority, proper democracy, you know) how do you expect the Prosecutor do its job in an unbiased way?

either the US changes the role of the president in electing public officials, or the US just votes better (you know, someone who actually has integrity and is morally fit and competent to run the office)

clearly US politics is a joke since 2016

Look up who hired Epstein at his private school job

Then remind yourself who was AG when they let Epstein get assasinated. And who was president. And who now controls FBI and DOJ

Also, the guy who gave Epstein a sweetheart deal (1 year in prison, and was allowed to spend most of the day outside of prison) the first time he was arrested for sex trafficking got a job as Attorney General - the top law enforcement job in the country.  I'll let you guess which administration

Because that’s how democracy operates. Under democracy only the worst demagogues rise to the top and run the country like a cartel. If you delegate justice to the state, then they essentially become a monopolist on justice. Therefore, they can commit even the most horrendous crimes that will be hidden for dozens of years and still walk free.

Royalty and aristocrats seem to face more accountability than MAGA God.

Really great for the reputation of our country, MAGATS.

Oh, and fuck you.

They burnt down Minneapolis over George Floyd. Not seeing anything close to that for the Epstein files - just people like me complaining online waiting for someone to go to prison
