You’re just making stuff up. The crime index is higher in London than NYC

London area: 1,572 km²
New York area: 783.8 km²

This crime index appears to be high solely because a shithole located one hour away from the city centre (in the South) is considered as being part of London

I assume your shitposting.. London is better in many ways but perhaps not overall better... nevertheless

  • Lower crime
  • More green spaces - Central Park is man-made artificial crap and is your only legit park. London has tons of more natural parks in the centre
  • More residential feel and less like a concrete jungle
  • Tube is much cleaner and nicer than your subway (slower tho I admit)
  • Healthcare is free and no constant ambulances like in NYC
  • NYC is just dirty... like the whole city is a kind of grey from how unclean it is
  • Tax is included in prices - wtf kind of scam is not including taxes. Just like Uber eats with all their random surprise charges
  • Easy cheap flights to Europe and the Med
  • Better place to raise a family with good schools and bursaries to all the top private schools so you don't pay a penny if you can't afford
  • Generally more "chilled out"

Funniest

I assume your shitposting..

You’re? I assume you didn’t get past 5th grade phonics. Also, I posted the crime rates. This isn’t 1990 NYC.

NYC has parks everywhere. But, I guess if you haven’t explored the city you wouldn’t know.

He made 10 good points and you only had one point to clap back on + a grammar connection? This isn't English class lol.

Fwiw I prefer New York, but this isn't the way to defend any point.

Some facts here I'll agree.

Major difference is NYC is top city in US while London is in UK, part of Europe. The fact that many of us can't argue on this with personal experience is we have never lived in London long enough / never intend to do so

One hundred and twenty six of NYC's restaurants have been awarded Michelin stars, just over twice the number of London's Michelin star rated restaurants (62).

There are also nine NYC restaurants that made it onto the World's 100 Best Restaurants list, whereas only five London restaurants made it onto the list.

NYC bars offer longer hours: the majority of bars in New York stay open till 4am on the weekends. Some stay open this late on weekdays as well, but a number of them close an hour or two earlier. Clubs in New York go on well into the early morning hours.

Yelp has a total of 859 24-hour stores listed for London, compared to 5,738listed for NYC.

Considering that New York City won in six out of the 11 categories we used for comparison (London won in five), New York City is the winner of the debate.

Yeah I thought that was suspect too. They don’t call it London Fog for nothing. I think the weather was a generalization including low temps in the winter, but after living in NYC, know just to wear boots and crunching in the snow with a big jacket and scarf on in the city is kind of fun. So what they see as a negative (low winter temps) - it is not something that really bothers me personally.

It’s may sound surprising but I’d agree that London has much better weather having spent years in both. It really doesn’t rain as much as people think in London. NYC seems to get as much or more and it often rains harder as well. Mild winters in London are really nice. Cold enough to feel like winter but without the headaches of snow, slush and ice. Summers are really great as well - they’re not humid and uncomfortable like in NYC.

Going for girls in their prime is based, enjoy used up roasties

Reported.

Not sure why you associate me as seeking out minors as I never have said that or done anything illegal. You have issues if that stuff is in your head, because it’s not in mine.

Fuck you, sincerely,

Isaiah

Also, I bet you feel great being a keyboard warrior and just typing whatever untrue and defamatory shit anonymously.

The truth is that you don’t have the balls to say that to my face and if you did I would crack your left orbital with my elbow. Bitch.

Show some respect and learn that defaming someone will never get you anywhere except in the ER or lawsuits. And you hide in your anonymous state like the little bitch that you are. I hope you sleep well tonight knowing that you can hide behind your little monitor and be safe, because those are fighting words and you would never dare say that shit to me in person. Have fun living life in your little world that no one can touch, because if you venture out into reality with the rest of us, you’re gonna get hurt. So why don’t you just shut the fuck up talking shit that isn’t true and actually do something productive with your life.

isaiah would be called a nonce in london.. sounds less derogatory than pedophile... better start liking london buddy

edit: isaiah literally said that he likes looking at tiktok which is filled w 16 year olds in bikinis

The difference between your statement and reality is that I never said I like to look at 16 year old girls. I said I like tik tok - do I have to draw a Venn diagram for you, bitch.

How bout you shut the fuck up and stop talking shit. Did you really have to make that edit? What kind of demented shit do you have going on in your life that you have to accuse people of being pedos? You must not have that much respect for yourself and definitely don’t support the concept of truth, so your issues here are obviously greater than mine so get help bro or start to do something positive in your life other than accusing people of things on the internet. Know truth. You don’t seem to get what pursing truth and loving kindness mean in life. Get with it dude - stop being a piece of dog shit.

London beats NYC on everything except the 3 most important.

Comp, hot girls, opportunity set

Yeah these three are good. One thing that really makes it for me is the 24/7 style of the city. I’ve been working at a Kinkos or similar in the middle of the night then directly went to eat at 4am at a very good 24hr buffet. I feel like when you want to be productive in NYC, you can do it at anytime. The NYU Bobst Library is open 24/7 and I used to spend time there studying for the CFA exams and then could always find a deli open for some grub. It’s a big draw to me as my hours are really weird sometimes and embrace when I am productive, no matter what time it is.

I hope you're just shitposting

London is infinitely better as a place bearing human beings than NYC. Not sure if this has been reality in NYC for too long but it's littered with problems. Visible obesity, high crime, casual thuggery on the streets, rampant poverty, garbage everywhere, mind boggling scammers, and overall a heightened space to live in. I am still traumatised by a story my brother has told me about - of a man shitting on the subway station. Wtf?

Heck all of North America doesn't have a spot nearly as pleasant as Bloomsbury. In contrast the atmosphere in NYC is overwhelming at points.

On one hand, London has more Africans.

On the other, NYC has a lot more tier 2 caucasians (Irish, Italian, Eastern European).

It depends on what demographic you can tolerate more. Personally, I prefer London because their Africans have less firearms. I can survive a shanking better than being turned into swiss cheese by "King Von" from "O Block".

I wouldn't say better immigrants (after all, a whole song was made about "brixton bullies", which I don't pretend to understand, but I assume it's about African "gangbangers" in the neighbourhood of Brixton"), but definitely better class caucasians.

New York also has a ton of the sneaky white people, which isn't ideal.

London demographics are just generally far better. Better types of white people, better immigrants etc.

Better types of white people? Ok bro

I'm calling it. Isaiah's gonna read this and not address a single thing you said, but will drone on about how you said "wreak" instead of "reek".

NYC is 1000% better in nearly every way. Why do people think London can even compare? It's not even close.

But sir it is based on my personal taste. For example, the homicide rate is much lower.

SafariJoe, wins again!

I haven’t lived in or even been to London. But from what I’ve heard from my British friends, below is what makes NY - Manhattan specifically, let’s ignore the other boroughs for the time being - better than London (for finance folks in the age group 20-40 at least):

  1. Compensation - NY blows London out of the water for this one. My friend worked for a BB in London and recently switched over to their US team. Not only is he making a lot more than before, but in his own words, he is now making more than his dad did at the peak of his career (not in finance tho)
  1. Job Opportunities - Both are big hubs but in London (or UK in general), there aren’t nearly as many opps as NY (let alone US). To top it off, NY is close to a lot of other major industrial cities/states- NJ, CT, Boston etc.
  1. Rent - NY rents sure cost a leg and a ear and half your yearly salary. But London rents are even higher (in terms of % of your salary).
  1. Transport - The tube might be cleaner and more maintained and sure there might not be as shady characters there. But NY subway has great connectivity, runs 24*7 and pretty much covers all of the city.
  1. Availability of resources - The city that never sleeps. Next!
  1. Food - Apparently, food in London isn’t “that great” compared to NY - I refuse to believe that but that’s the only opinion I’ve heard so…. Call it a tie on this? But hey, in NY, at any hour of the day, I know I’ll find a pharmacy, a deli or a pizza shop open within 10-15 mins of walk.
  1. Nightlife - Going by my friends’ words, London “dies down” after 10 PM or so. I won’t be surprised if that were true tbh. In the US, there are far too many big cities that die down too, including SF :’( So yeah, NYC for the win here.
  1. Others - Maybe London has more greenery as some people pointed out, and I’m 100% certain most countries on Earth have better healthcare than the US, less racism, fewer stupid people (some Americans don’t know ANYTHING about other countries or that they even exist), but hey, for career-driven people, those are secondary considerations, right? At least in the age group I mentioned?
