Would you let your brother kill you or you would kill your brother?

I have watched alot of Hollywood movies and wanted to know how you would answer this question.

1: Lets say you are the younger brother. You are dirt poor, and your brother and yourself are trapped in a room with a knife. The people who kidnapped you said only one of you can come out or your both dead. I mean people on this board probably will just kill their brother, but for those who will kill themselves or let the brother kill you, I ask why?

I would fake one of us dying, tell the kidnapper hes dead, then stab him with the knife and try to escape that way.

If your parameters were strictly the way you've described them and there were no loopholes like attacking the guards or breaking free, then I would kill myself because I truly couldn't live in a world where I was the one who knowingly killed my brother for my benefit. Don't get me wrong, I'm still a selfish asshole and wouldn't really hesitate if it were someone NOT in my immediate family, I'm just really close to my brothers.

HOWEVER, if your parameters allowed for convenient loopholes: I'd break free with my brother and come fucking kill you you sick fuck. WHAT SANE FUCKING PERSON WOULD ASK A QUESTION LIKE THIS!?!?!

"If you can count your money, you don't have a billion dollars." - J. Paul Getty

I'm Christian, therefore I couldn't kill my brother nor myself. With those strict parameters, where they would know if one brother killed the other before entering the room, it would have to be both die for me.

given the parameters presented I would kill myself because my brother is married with a kid.
But let's be honest, who wouldn't put up a fight with these so-called kidnappers???

I have to agree with RE_BANKER...what would Jack Bauer do?

If if don't make dollars, it don't make sense.

It depends on whether or not I have a slow acting poison in my blood, the antidote to which is in the hands of my kidnapper (who probably has some sort of frontal lobe cancer), but I would first try and make sure the dead body lying in the room isn't actually the kidnapper. After checking, my brother and I would break out of the cell, get two guns and two tattoos saying "Truth" and "Justice", and shoot the kidnapper through the back of his head so the bullets come out of his eyes. On the other hand, I have always been a more practical kind of guy, and my brother has always been a dreamer, so maybe if we escape we could combine our forces and make some money by tricking local townsfolk into believing we can exorcise their homes of evil spirits. Alternatively, if we developed a case of the Stockholm syndrome and if the kidnapper was more accepting my brother's gift of a sheep than of my gift of grain, I would probably shank him.

Amazing... +1

Alo, what does being poor have to do with killing your family? lol

Reality hits you hard, bro...

What the fuck are you talking about...shouldn't this be on a forum for 15 year old kids with mental disorders?

i saw this scenario in a chinese movie where he kills his brother. but it haunts him forever. in the end he wanted to die a glorious death, so he sacrifices himself for war.

This is a pretty fucked up topic. There was a movie with a similar dilemma called Sophies Choice or something. Nazi's pulled shit like this also.

Well, I don't talk to my brother and he is a criminal. The only thing he is doing is sucking away tax dollars and slowly destroying society...so I might take him out.

Best case scenario is you kill your brother and hope his spirit doesn't haunt you so you can have a productive life. If however, his spirit does haunt you, then just kill yourself. In the end you are dead, like you would have been originally, but at least this way you are playing the odds.

The glass is half full you silly pessimists.

I have a brother that I am very close with and have no desire to kill him, but for the sake of humor and this thread:

In recognition of the above posts stating that folks would rather die than live life knowing that they'd killed their brother, I would elect to kill my brother and survive myself. Out of sheer respect for my brother, I wouldn't want him to have to live knowing he'd killed me, so I'd shoulder the burden myself.
