Trump for Prez?

With Donald Trump thinking about a run for President, I would be interested in seeing how all of you would view it? Would you support him?

Cartwrighti would vote for him to put a gun in his mouth.

Just putting it there and holding it for a couple seconds before taking it out?

I really don't like how Trump doesn't really understand the energy pricing fundamentals and looming scarcity problems. I think he's solid in a lot of other areas though. I think I would vote for him, he has a long track record of getting shit done and managing people well. I definitely prefer Trump over the majority of the potential Republican candidates, and think he's probably the most electable. I think he's one of the few that can beat Obama in a debate, since jobs are so important and he can point to being a successful businessman (who is actually liked/admired by the general public).

Which is kind of weird when you consider he has a TV show dedicated to firing people...

Trump is a brilliant marketer and PR guy. He is a mediocre business man at best.

Zero chance for election. Mitt is a great candidate, but no one will elect a Mormon. Plus being associated with Wall Street is equvilant to having herpes.

Has anyone seen the ESPN 30 for 30 on the USFL? If I didn't like Trump before, I can't stand him now.

Not electing Romney because he's Mormon is just as dumb as this birther crap.

Not too sure anybody cares about the Mormon thing anymore. Heck, Lieberman barely got any play on his religion.

GoodBreadPalin/Trump would be about as epic as it could get.

I love this country damn near as much or more than anyone but if that happened I would pull an Uncle Eddie and move to France. Period.

Like that's somehow worse than what we have now, or what we've had countless times in the past...

The one advantage of having trump as the president would be we would finally have a president that has some what decent hair.

Trump's going to put up decent numbers in states like New Jersey and Florida in the GOP primary if he really does spend $250M on his campaign. You don't spend $250M on a presidential campaign and get 5 pct of the vote. He's going to be a factor because of his blunt nature and deep wallets, especially compared to the generally lackluster GOP field.

Would he be a good president? Probably not. He's been far from impressive in his interviews, and this birther stuff is creating a sideshow that is not going to appeal to moderate voters whatsoever.

he will definitely run given the recent poll numbers both nationwide and way more importantly in iowa. he has roughly a 35-40% shot a getting the nomination and certainly has "Big Mo" (momentum) on his side much like obama after iowa in early '08. and were he to get the GOP nod, he would absolutely lose to barack obama in 2012, with THE SOLE EXCEPTION being if the market doubled dipped really really bad or unemployment stalled (although the job market is recovering just in time for 2012 elections as you all know) prior to the election, and it is my humble opinion that the likelihood of such a double dip is impossibly low. put your money on it. think what you want of this president, but the man can do wonders on a campaign trail and hell keep his presidency quite comfortably. no doubt about it, and anyone who says otherwise simply does not have a grasp for american politics or historical precedent.
