Would appreciate any information, apologies on the annoying ask
which group? they run a few strategies
Their buyout group
Dream Big is a great book on the firm's history— a la King of Capital for Blackstone, but with more spearfishing.
Second the Dream Big book recommendation.
Anyone?
Not many people have passed through there so unlikely to find much information online. I know someone who has worked there. It’s a pretty intense job but a good firm. Are you currently a banking analyst?
Got it, when you mean intense are you referring total sweatshop with bad culture? Yes, still currently an analyst
I wouldn't say the culture is bad but it's very intense. Expectations are very high. The people there aren't bad people. It is really sweaty which shouldn't be surprising given the deals they do.
which recruiter do they use?
Interested as well
May of last year they were using Oxbridge, would assume it's remained the same
Slightly off-topic, but does anyone know details about their model for investors they bring in. Do they charge management fees, performance fees etc.?
Do they even have a fund with LPs? Or do they raise deal-by-deal capital?
They do like 1 deal every 5 years - most of your work as a junior is likely portfolio stuff / evaluating add-ons.
I believe they now mostly invest in public companies and occasionally private ones
Got it. And it's the same team doing publics and privates / LBOs? Interestingly I haven't heard of them doing much activism despite the strategy seeming like a natural fit.
what are thoughts on their public equity arm?
.
Curious as well
