3rd year in banking to do PE recruiting later?
Thoughts on doing third year in banking to do on-cycle after year 1 or off-cycle before then? Feel like I’d be much better prepared

Career Resources
Yes. Do what’s best for you and live life on your own timeframe. 1 year won’t make a difference in a 40+ year career
40+ year career? Do you really want to work that long
You don’t have to hate what you do. I’ve met people on the tail end of their career who created an arrangement for themselves and enjoy what they do. A couple of examples are an operating advisor to PE backed companies (~70 y/o) and a lawyer with their own law firm working from 9am-3pm (~80 y/o). I’d argue doing something like this is probably better for your mental health and overall well-being then flat out retiring w/ nothing to do as it keeps your mind sharp and gives you a routine to follow.
