AKKR comp & culture?

Saw they won the top spot for HEC rankings last year and was hoping to learn more about them. Was reviewing glassdoor and saw some complaints about comp being low (under street average), sharp elbow culture, etc. which was surprising to me given their performance, AUM, and some anecdotes I've heard.

Can anyone share some insight?

My info is dated from 2019-ish, but I have heard that comp is on the lower range of MM PE (so if the range is 200-300K, would assume somewhere in the middle maybe lower). Mentioned this in another thread, but one of the guys legit told me they "work really hard" and asked how many hours I worked as a comparison, which was strange. Obviously just one person, but it does corroborate other things I've heard that it's pretty sweaty. That being said, great portcos and great performance.

Is this both BD and execution or just the latter? I was under the impression they bifurcate the teams.
