Apollo dream is dead

Heard from friend at the firm that the 9 year to Partner path is not a thing anymore and there’s now a new layer called Managing Director in between Partner and Principal? Why is this the case when it seems to go against everything they preach?

Those aren’t deal team MDs. Those titles are for individuals who are on the portfolio performance solution teams which are under the PE filter on the website.
