Any thoughts on this shop? Had a first round and opportunity looks interesting. They've had phenomenal returns and just raised a $3.5B fund. Comp seems to be in-line with street (sense from speaking with HR) but a few people have said they have bottom tier comp in previous threads. Any thoughts on NYC office and general culture? They seem to be growing really fast in NY.

Take with a large grain of salt. From a buddy who interviewed there, I believe he said that there was a carry & coinvest benefit the offset potentially below market cash comp.

Never bet on carry. I personally would always go with higher cash comp vs. lucrative carry. You never know how long (and even if) the carry takes to hit your bank account.

Returns are good - but very heavily driven by PolyPlus
Interesting. How would you say they've done other than PolyPlus?
It's reasonably strong - 2.5x - 3.0x - but their previous deals were a lot smaller and their strategy has changed so its hard to use that as a predictor of future returns
PolyPlus made ARCHIMED’s first fund (MED I) the best performing fund for the 2014 vintage (across all asset classes). But it did not boost return in other funds (all which have been top decile performers) as it was later on set up as a separate continuation vehicle.
They also rolled a portion into 2nd fund I believe, but agreed PolyPlus made them.
