Ares SSG Asia
I’m interviewing with Ares special situation and credit investment team in APAC, understand they have a lean team in the region and may do things very differently than US, still I’d appreciate if anyone can provide some color on their recruiting process (even non-Asia office would be helpful) What type of questions they like to ask and how should I prepare?
BG: currently a generalist at a BB (which means we don’t do restructuring deal, but I had RX exposure thru previous internship at a boutique)

you prob have a wrong understanding of "lean" team. Ares SSG has a big team across Hong Kong, Singapore, JKT, Shanghai, Mumbai, and Sydney. Most of these guys are legacy SSG capital people. SSG culture would expect you to put your head down and do your work without asking too much question...
