Avista is a great middle market shop. Has a reputation to be a deal shop -- they do ~4 deals a year, many in the healthcare and communications spaces. Has a separate group in Houston that does energy. They tend to raise ~$2bn funds every few years. Good b-school exits to HBS and such.
