Associate/VP Progression

How does your firm handle explaining progression through the ranks of the firm?

I’m at a large firm but only 20 investment professionals in my sub-sector. So it’s not really clear what each title means and when you’re supposed to get promoted. I got a promotion recently and didn’t know that was I up for one or if it meant more pay / responsibilities or just a title change.

At my former IB, a pdf would be circulated each year end that showed how your responsibilities are supposed to progress through each year of analyst/associate/VP etc. I mentioned this to my boss at my fund and he thinks it’s a good idea to create something similar. Does anyone have an example from their IB days?

Any way you could PM me a copy? You could anonymize or whatever you need - just looking for a sample to show my boss so they can put something together for our team
