Bahrain family office analyst offer

I have gotten an offer to work for a family office in Bahrain, with analysing and investing into funds. Anyone know anything about the exit ops from family offices(that are quite obscure) as someone that wants to enter into buyout PE. I currently work as an analyst in VC. Also anyone knows how living in Bahrain is? Thnx

Congratulations on the offer, buddy. You must be excited about paying 0 in taxes. I've never been to Bahrain but have a few expat friends from the Middle East - it's all second hand info so take it with several grains of salt. From what I hear, it's a pretty calm and quite place and offers expats a more local or culturally immersive experience in comparison to the likes of Dubai or Doha which are super international now. If you're looking for a vibrant city, defo Dubai/Doha would be a significantly better fit but keep in mind, they would be far more expensive too. I think Bahrain would be a better place if you have a family and/or enjoy more laid-back vibes. I've been to Dubai and I can tell that life is very fast there - you wake up, you blink, and boom, its bed time. Bahrain has more small town-ish vibes and is a better place to live in the moment from what I hear, and Dubai/Doha are the big metropolitican cities where life is more like NYC/London. All subjective but I hope it helps.

Do you mind sharing what the recruiting process was like? How different are they to American processes? And did apply for a posting or did a head hunter reach out to you? Best of luck on the offer again and  I wish you well with whatever decision you end up making (if you haven't yet)
