Bonus Utilization - RE Investments

anyone else around here who have been funneling their compensation funds into real estate investments?

within that subgroup, anyone else doing so with the goal of eventually retiring off that cash flow? curious about how you're prioritizing that goal in the context of working in ib vs pe (vs others, if you're doing something else).

tldr - been investing in RE for a few years now, reevaluating pe comp vs ib if i want to quit corporate finance within the next 5-10 years to focus on RE.

By “RE investments” do you mean purchasing property outright or investing in something like REITs or Fundrise? I’ve focused on co-investing in my own fund for now (vs pursuing RE investments) especially given the current interest rate environment but interested in exploring this down the road. I have a small allocation to Fundrise but no property yet at the moment. Curious to hear other’s thoughts.
