Career shift to sustainability/ renewable energy infrastructure investment

My previous background is in Real Estate, private equity and growth equity. I am determined for personal reasons that the next leg of the career should be in renewable energy and sustainability related investments. Simply put, I wish to work in something that is personally meaningful making the transition may be difficult, I believe that the Real Estate PE experience could leverage itself well to renewable energy infrastructure investing or renewable energy project development. Meanwhile, the growth equity experience could be useful in Climate tech investing hope that others on the chat can help advise where there may be opportunities and how one can close the knowledge gap in order to access such opportunities.

I have started to make a list of companies that are active in the space, including :

  • Nextera
  • Green Climate Fund
  • Bezos Earth Fund
  • Climactic Capital
  • Audacy
  • HSBC Ventures
  • HSBC renewable infra fund
  • Gaw Capital climate-tech fund
  • Wellington Climate-tech fund
  • TPG Rise
  • Brookfield Renewables
  • GIC
  • Temasek
  • Future Energy Fund
